  5. The release of SuperShow 5.0 is our
  6. most significant upgrade to date.  In
  7. addition to all the new features of
  8. SuperShow like support for .FLI/.FLC
  9. files, new sound support (including
  10. .MID files), variables for control
  11. logic, etc., we have added and
  12. enhanced the series of tools that
  13. help you prepare your presentations.
  14.  
  15. First, all the imaging tools now can
  16. process True Color (24 bit, 16
  17. million color) images.  You may copy,
  18. crop, resize and print these images.
  19. The conversion utility in Super
  20. ToolBox also is able to convert your
  21. True Color images to 256, 16 or 2
  22. colors.
  23.  
  24. Now we will look at the tools in 3
  25. different areas; in the F4-Tools
  26. section of ShowPrep, The Super
  27. ToolBox, and the all new Extra Tools
  28. Supplementary Disk (available
  29. separately):

  35. 1.  Extended Mouse Support: You may
  36. now use the mouse to choose from the
  37. menu bar while using the editor.

  39. 2.  FLI/FLC Preview:  With the
  40. addition of support of this animation
  41. format, we've added a preview tool.
  42.  
  43. 3.  Extended Program Hooks: One of my
  44. favorite additions to version 5.0!
  45. An extended program hook is really
  46. just a menu within a menu.  We know
  47. that you bounce back and forth
  48. between your favorite paint programs,
  49. sound editors, text editors, etc. and
  50. Super ShowPrep.  Now you can access
  51. these programs right from the tools
  52. menu in ShowPrep.  And when you're
  53. finished, you are returned directly
  54. to where you were in ShowPrep.

  56. We've given you four program hooks.
  57. You set up your list of programs
  58. during the configuration (press F2)
  59. of ShowPrep.  You simply enter the
  60. name of the program you'd like to
  61. access from SuperShow and it remains
  62. an F4-Tool option everytime you use
  63. SuperShow. You may change it anytime
  64. by choosing configure ShowPrep.

  66. 4.  Context Sensitive Help: All the
  67. new script commands are covered in
  68. the Help Feature of ShowPrep.  To
  69. pop-up help on any script command,
  70. highlight the command and press F1.

  77. 1.  Video Mode Display: This is a new
  78. tool that will show every video mode
  79. your graphics card is capable of
  80. showing.

  82. 2.  Palette Conversion: In addition
  83. to being able to process True Color
  84. images, we now have a dither option
  85. menu.  You may choose the dithering
  86. method (or choose No Dither) when
  87. converting images.

  89. 3.  Full Color Printing: In version
  90. 5.0 we have totally revamped the
  91. printing capabilities of ToolBox.
  92. You may now print any image... 2, 16,
  93. 256, or 16 million colors.
  94.  
  95. ToolBox supports over 300 different
  96. printers, including color printers.
  97. With the printer setup you can resize
  98. your print out, rotate it, invert it,
  99. set up by pixels, inches or
  100. centimeters, print landscape or
  101. portrait, and locate it anywhere on
  102. the page.

  109. is a series of helpful, specialized
  110. tools and utilities.  New are:
  111.  
  112. 1.  PCX-Talker: This program is a
  113. sub-set of SuperShow which allows you
  114. to access the SBTalker voice
  115. synthesizer from Creative Labs.  With
  116. PCX-Talker you can show your PCX
  117. images using the SuperShow screen
  118. transitions while accessing the
  119. speech synthesizer.  You must have
  120. SBTalker to use PCX-Talker.  SBTalker
  121. comes packaged with every Sound
  122. Blaster card from Creative Labs.

  124. 2.  FLICVOC: This is a FLI/FLC player
  125. that gives you the ability to link
  126. and play any .VOC digitized sound
  127. file in the background while the
  128. animation runs.
  129.  
  130. 3.  VOC2PC: A small utility that
  131. allows you to play .VOC digitized
  132. files through your PC Speaker.
  133.  
  134. 4.  PCXHDR: Another small utility
  135. that will change video mode header
  136. information in a PCX file using a
  137. batch process.
  138.  
  139. 5.  Alternate Editor:  SP5A.EXE is an
  140. alternate ShowPrep editor that allows
  141. for up to 5000, 78 character lines
  142. for a show script.  While there is no
  143. limit to the number of lines in a
  144. SuperShow presentation, the standard
  145. ShowPrep editor has a limit of 1500
  146. script lines.  The alternate editor
  147. does not have mouse capability, the
  148. editing commands are slightly
  149. different, and each line is limited
  150. to 78 characters.

  153. ║ Note: The GIF image format is not ║
  154. ║ capable of True Color. GIF has a  ║
  155. ║ maximum of 256 colors. Our tools, ║
  156. ║ however, still support the GIF    ║
