Start the control of installation.
If the wanted program has not been installed yet, START the control of installation now.
After input of the program name and of the drive on which the program shall be installed, CleanIt works in the following way:
- Scanning the directory structure
- Scanning the files which are in the follow-
ing directories:
- Main directory
- Windows directory
- Windows system directory
- Scanning the system files
- CONFIG.SYS
- AUTOEXEC.BAT
- SYSTEM.INI
- WIN.INI
If the control of installation had been star- ted and the wanted program has been installed, FINISH the control of installation. %
CleanIt works in the following way:

- Comparing with the old directory structure

- Windows system directory
- Comparing with the old files of these di-

The program you want to install has to be named at your choice with 50 characters maxi- mum. 0
Furthermore the drive is to be destinated on which the program shall be installed. If it is another drive than the one of Windows, never- theless the directory structure of the Windows drive will be scanned because some of the pro- grams will at anyway install directories and files on this drive.
Programs
Uninstallation...
or
Start the uninstallation.
CleanIt works in the following way:
- If in OPTIONS/UNINSTALLATION.../UNDO UNIN-
STALLATION the option POSSIBLE is activa-
ted, first all files of the program you
want to delete will with the help of the
packer LHA 2.55b compressed and stored in
1-2 files. Directory structure, position of
the files and contents of the system files
SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI are at the same time
recorded.
- All directories and files of the program
will be deleted.
- All entries in the system files SYSTEM.INI
and WIN.INI will be cleared.
Notice: ,
- The DOS system files CONFIG.SYS and AUTO-
EXEC.BAT will not be adjusted automatically
because this could lead to the impossibili-
ty to boot the computer. Use the log file
(to find in STATUS/STATUS...) to adjust
them by hand.
- On the other hand in the Windows system
files SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI will ALL alte-
rations be undone (and not only those found
beneath a title in angular parentheses).
Exception: In the WIN.INI below the title
[WINDOWS] the line which begins with LOAD=
will not be changed.
Programs
Restore INI files
If in OPTIONS/UNINSTALLATION.../UNDO UNINSTAL- LATION the option POSSIBLE was activated du- ring the last uninstallation and thus a backup of the program was made then it is with this choice possible to restore (only) the Windows system files SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI in the DI- RECTORY OF CLEANIT.
Programs
Restore program
If in OPTIONS/UNINSTALLATION.../UNDO UNINSTAL- LATION the option POSSIBLE was activated du- ring the last uninstallation and thus a backup of the program was made then it is with this choice possible to restore the Windows system files SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI and the unin- stalled program at the SAME PLACE as before.
Programs
Delete program finally
If during the last uninstallation a backup was made it will be deleted and the capacity of the hard disk extended.

Uninstallation...
Here you have the possibility to undo the un- installation.
Undo uninstallation
Uninstallation of Windows programs can be
full of problems. For example you install one
with all its runtime libraries (*.DLL). If
you then install one more Windows program it
might have access to the same runtime libra-
ries. If the first program will be deleted,
the second program crashes because it does
not find these files. With this option you
can avoid that.
- possible: During the uninstallation all
files of the program you want to
delete will with the help of the
packer LHA 2.55b compressed and
stored in 1-2 files. Directory
structure, position of the files
and contents of the system files
SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI are at the
same time recorded. Happens that
what is described above the pro-
gram can be reinstalled. Use the
log file (to find in STATUS/STA-
TUS...) to delete it by hand.
Notice: The backup is automati-
cally deleted as soon as another
program will be (un)installed.
- impossible: Ignores this security measure
and with that accelerates the
uninstallation considerably.

INSTALLATION/UNINSTALLATION
A program can only be uninstalled if CleanIt has controlled its installation before. There- fore CleanIt is to be started, PROGRAMS/INSTALLATION... (or F3) to be chosen and the control of installation to be STARTed. After that you have to exit CleanIt (if you use Windows this is not necessary) and to in- stall the wanted program. At last CleanIt has to be started again, PROGRAMS/INSTALLATION... (or F3) to be chosen and the control of in- stallation to be FINISHed. ]
Each program registered by CleanIt can be de- leted by PROGRAMS/UNINSTALLATION... (or F4).
If in OPTIONS/UNINSTALLATION.../UNDO UNINSTAL- LATION the option POSSIBLE is activated, you can restore either ONLY the Windows system files SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI by PROGRAMS/RE- STORE INI FILES or ALSO the last uninstalled program by PROGRAMS/RESTORE PROGRAM. w
If during the last uninstallation a backup was made, it is possible to delete it by PROGRAMS/ DELETE PROGRAM FINALLY.
With OPTIONS/SPEED... you have the possibi- lity to choose the speed of the program and with OPTIONS/UNINSTALLATION... to undo the un- installation. (
