  6.  This file contains special notes for both new and experienced users of
  7.  Crosstalk Mk.4, including descriptions of some new features and manual
  8.  clarifications.  We suggest that you take a moment to read this file.    If
  9.  you wish to review the information again later, you can press Alt-M from
  10.  the Dialing Directory and select BROWSER.  Select READ.ME from the BROWSER
  11.  menu.

  17.           Files on the distribution diskettes
  18.  
  19.  Appendix E of the User's Guide lists files that are shipped on the
  20.  distribution diskettes.  Some of these files are not necessary in this
  21.  version of Crosstalk.    The files omitted are:

  23.   ADIR.XTC    (XDIR.XTC assumes this function, when in answer mode)
  24.  
  25.   CONFIG2.XTC    (now part of CONFIG.XTC)
  26.  
  27.   MODEMSET.XTC    (no longer required)
  28.  
  29.   STD.XTK    (created automatically by the Crosstalk XVI interface)

  33.  The functional equivalents for Crosstalk XVI's SETUP.XTK and SETUP.XTS are
  34.  called CONFIG.XTK and CONFIG.XTS for the Crosstalk XVI look-alike interface.

  36.  ALEC.XTD, the device module that serves as an interface for DCA's SmartAlec
  37.  5250 emulator board, is not on the disk, either.  Previous versions of this
  38.  file will not work with Crosstalk Mk.4 v2.0; if you want to use SmartAlec
  39.  with Crosstalk, you can get the file from our tech support department
  40.  (404-442-3210), download it from our BBS (404-740-8428), or download it
  41.  from the XTALK forum on CompuServe (GO XTALK).

  44.              Background Mode Limitations
  45.  
  46.  Crosstalk cannot use its background mode if network software is loaded
  47.  or under DOS 2.x or 4.x.  If you hear a beep when you press the background
  48.  hotkey (default is Alt-Esc), Crosstalk thinks you have network software
  49.  loaded or are running under DOS 2.x or 4.x.  You must unload the network
  50.  software before running Crosstalk Mk.4 in background mode.

  53.                Errata in Documentation
  54.  
  55.  CASL Reference, Appendix C - The System Windows incorrectly lists windows
  56.  #20 and #35.  Window #20 is actually the Status Screen, and #35 is 
  57.  actually the Dialing Directory.

  59.  User's Guide, p. 7-2 - The wrong picture is displayed for the editor screen.
  60.  The screen pictured is from the LEARN script, not the editor.

  62.  Section 7 of the User's Guide omitted that the maximum wordwrap (Ewrap)

  68.  The NASI device module was tested with Novell's NASI (v1.14, NACS v2.06) and
  69.  Network Products Corporation's NCSI (v1.15, ACS2 v2.07).  Other versions may

  75.  Printer not ready. You attempted to use the LPRINT command and the
  76.             printer is not ready.  You may also check the printer's
  77.             readiness from a CASL script with the command
