Altered Beasty Boy Trainer
By R. Bubba Magillicutty
After getting massacred at the end of level two I decided this game
needed a trainer. No matter how many times I restored my game, I couldn't
kill the horrible eyeball monster with less than 3 guys. So I spent about 5
minutes locating the lives and health, whipped out my trainer framework, and
had a nice interactive trainer a few minutes later. The "engine" for the
trainer is still a bit flakey, but it seems to work fine with this game.
To install and use this cheat, all you have to do is copy the
BEAST.COM file into the same directory as the game. Then just run that file.
It will load the main program for you. The available commands are:
Keypad + Add one health. 4 health equals one complete bar.
Keypad - Add one life.
Keypad 5 Returns health and lives to 5. This may not be the amount
you started with, but I had to choose something. While
restoring to your starting level is possible and not all that
hard, I felt it wouldn't be worth the effort.
The cheat only works for player one. I made this for my own use,
releasing it only as a second thought. If I get enough interest in a
two-player version I may do one, adding a few new features at the same time,
like an invulnerability toggle.
I make no promises about this cheat. I've noticed that if you use
the 5 key when the big guy is on the screen, he sometimes won't turn into the
large monster you have to fight. And if you press it after you've killed
him, you occasionally can't move on to the next level. You just sit there
until you press Ctrl-X. The "engine" is still under development and has some
problems. I thought the cheat was still good enough to release. If you use
the + and - keys, I think you'll have less problems. I didn't test this very
extensively so as I said -- no guarantees.
That aside, I hope you enjoy this cheat. It may or may not work with
any other version of the game. We didn't change anything that would modify
memory allocation and thus make it different, but who can tell.
May your days be filled with spam!
