  57. The RACE II projects COMBINE and PREPARE, together with the 
  58. Danish national ATM pilot project BATMAN, are arranging a 
  59. demonstration and presentation of the results achieved so far
  60.  
  61.                          THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1994

  65. The projects cover different aspects of broadband networking 
  66. and management. The integrated demonstration is therefore an 
  67. excellent opportunity to acquire information on broadband 
  68. development.
  69.  
  70. A heterogeneous broadband testbed has been developed with the 
  71. purpose of demonstrating end-to-end management, interworking 
  72. and broadband services between different types of networks: 
  73. ATM WAN, DQDB MAN, Token Ring LAN, Ethernet and ATM private 
  74. network. The testbed will be connected to the pan-European 
  75. ATM MoU pilot network, which will be officially opened this 
  76. autumn.

  78. A selection of scenarios will be demonstrated live, 
  79. illustrating the end-to-end management and the implemented 
  80. CBDS and VPN services. The network management is implemented 
  81. on different OSI platforms according to TMN standard using 
  82. CMIP.
  83.  
  84. The Virtual Private Network service is provided through 
  85. cooperating TMN systems built upon the following platforms: 
  86. IBM NetView/6000, Ericsson TMOS, HP OpenView and OSIMIS.

  88. A concept for integrating X500 Directory with X700 Systems 
  89. Management has been developed and it will be shown how this 
  90. can be used for Inter-Domain management.
  91.  
  92. A complete set of GDMO specifications for the involved 
  93. domains is available and a tool (Damocles) used during the 
  94. specification managed objects will be demonstrated.

  96. In parallel to the demonstration, a poster session concerning 
  97. the development of the sub-networks, interworking units, 
  98. management software and development tools will be held. The 
  99. systems developers will be present and ready to answer
  100. question and share/discuss their experiences with the 
  101. audience.

  103. Invited talks on broadband development in general as well as 
  104. on the three projects in particular will be given as an 
  105. introduction to the demonstrations.
