  1.      Notes on the Amiga version of Zoo. (1.71)

  3.          Please see  the file  changes which should have been included with
  4.      this distribution for a list of the changes from the  previous version
  5.      of AmigaZoo.
  6.  
  7.          AmigaZoo supports full-length AmigaDOS filenames and can archive a
  8.      directory structure.
  9.  
  10.          Note,  when  adding  comments  to  an  archive,  the  Amiga's  eof
  11.      character is a control \.
  12.  
  13.          Distribution  of  the  latest  version  of  AmigaZoo  will be made
  14.      through the GEnie telecommunications  service.   I would  also like to
  15.      distribute it through some BBS's that are reachable by PC Pursuit.  If
  16.      you run an Amiga oriented BBS that is reachable by PC Pursuit  and are
  17.      interested in  being a distribution point for AmigaZoo, please contact
  18.      me.  Please distribute  all the  files in  this package  together.  If
  19.      your  local  BBS  has  an  older  version  of AmigaZoo or a incomplete
  20.      package, please upload this package to them.   I have  heard that many
  21.      BBS's  are  missing  all  of  the  doc files, and that some still have
  22.      version 1.31.

  24.          I would  like  to  thank  John  Hiday  for  helping  to  beta test
  25.      AmigaZoo. I  would also  like to  thank Rahul Dhesi, first for writing
  26.      zoo and second for  being so  responsive to  making changes  in zoo to
  27.      make the Amiga version easier to create.

  29.          AmigaZoo is  a user  supported program.   Zoo was written by Rahul
  30.      Dhesi and modified to run on the Amiga by J.  Brian Waters.   With the
  31.      consent of  the author,  I am  requesting a  $10-$20 contribution from
  32.      satisfied users.  This contribution is  purely voluntary  and you need
  33.      not  feel  any  guilt  if  you  do  not contribute.  Any contributions
  34.      received will go toward  one  of  three  things:    firstly,  and most
  35.      importantly they will be used to acquire any tools which may appear on
  36.      the market  to  help  make  AmigaZoo  better  like  more  optimizing C
  37.      compilers  or  better  debuggers;    secondly, it will be used to help
  38.      defray the costs of distributing zoo;  thirdly, if any  money is still
  39.      remaining it  will be  used to buy some shares of Commodore stock.  In
  40.      any case, you are  encouraged to  use and  distribute this  program in
  41.      accordance with the conditions below.

  43.           AmigaZoo is  a derivative  work of a program copyrighted by Rahul
  44.      Dhesi  and  as  such  is  subject  to  the  following  limitations  on
  45.      distribution:

  47.                  Distribution of  the executable AmigaZoo is permitted
  48.                subject to the following conditions.   Any violation of
  49.                these conditions  may lead  to damages  in favor of the
  50.                copyright owner.

  52.                  AmigaZoo 1.71 may be  duplicated and  distributed, or
  53.                made available  for downloading via telecommunications,
  54.                for no fee above normal connect charges.  Organizations
  55.                charging more  than a  total of  $5.00 postpaid for the
  56.                disk(s)  containing   AmigaZoo   are   prohibited  from
  57.                distributing AmigaZoo.  It is  prohibited to distribute
  58.                AmigaZoo as part  of  any  package  over  which anybody
  59.                other than  Rahul Dhesi claims a licensing right, right
  60.                of distribution, or copyright  or compilation copyright
  61.                of any  kind.   It is prohibited to distribute AmigaZoo
  62.                with any copyright notices removed.

  64.           Notwithstanding the above terms, Fred Fish is given permission to
  65.      distribute  AmigaZoo  in  his  Amiga  Freely  Redistributable Software
  66.      Library.  Also please  note that  AmigaZoo has  different distribution
  67.      conditions than  the portable  version of Zoo.  These conditions allow
  68.      any telecommunications service  which  does  not  claim  a compilation
  69.      right or charge a surcharge to distribute the AmigaZoo executable.
