  1. MoleWt Version 1.01 - by John Kennan

  3. MoleWt is a public domain molecular weight calculator.  The
  4. program accepts a chemical formula and returns the molecular
  5. weight.  For example if you enter `(CH3)4Si' the program will
  6. return the molecular weight of 88.226.  The program is simple to
  7. operate.  Just keep the following in mind:
  8.  
  9. 1)  Upper and lower case are significant.  Thus SI is interpreted
  10. as sulfur and iodine and not as silicon.
  11. 2)  The program accepts many levels of parentheses.  Thus
  12. ((CH3)3C)2SiCl2 is acceptable.
  13. 3)  The program is written in Multi-Forth.  To makes things
  14. simple, I used integer math.  If you calculate molecular weights
  15. that exceed 1 million, the program will give incorrect results.
  16. 4)  In addition to the elements, I programmed in a few common
  17. chemical groupings.  Thus
  18.     Me=CH3-
  19.     Et=CH3CH2-
  20.     Vi=CH2CH-
  21.     Ph=C6H5-
