  9. Sick of slow printout times with Pagestream?  Do you own a high speed
  10. printer that is compatible with the HP LaserJet or Deskjet printer?
  11. If so OutBurST! is the program you have been waiting for.  The
  12. OutBurST! software package consists of high speed printer patches to
  13. the normal Atari TOS driver and the Pagestream printer driver.  With
  14. OutBurST! installed on your ST, printout time can be reduced by a
  15. factor of over 20 relative to TOS.

  17. OutBurST! is a program that reduces the time that Pagestream takes 
  18. to print data to HP LaserJet and HP Deskjet compatible printers.  
  19. With OutBurST! installed on your ST,  the time to send a page of 
  20. data to the printer from Pagestream can be as short as 13 seconds!  
  21. This compares to times as long as 323 seconds using the standard 
  22. built-in TOS routines.

  24. OutBurST! also can reduce the time that Calamus takes to print data to
  25. HP LaserJet and HP Deskjet compatible printers.  With OutBurST!
  26. installed on your ST,  the time to send a page of data to the printer
  27. from Calamus can be as short as 35 seconds!  This compares to times as
  28. long as 111 seconds using the standard Calamus routines.

  32. Version 3.0 of OutBurST! contains a unique "Auto-switch" printer
  33. spooler that can optimize not only your graphic output, but also text
  34. based output. OutBurST! versions 1 & 2 really made Pagestream and
  35. Calamus printing fly! However if you printed very long text based
  36. files (Word Writer, Steno, Word Perfect, etc.) the time to get your ST
  37. back could be improved by the use of a print spooler. This is even in
  38. the case when using a laser printer with a built-in 4 meg memory.  The
  39. laser printer is busy printing and cannot accept a whole lot of text
  40. between printed pages. Thus you sit and wait for your computer to
  41. return control to you. Now OutBurST! version 3.0 has a built-in
  42. spooler that can be configured to automatically switch the spooler in
  43. or out as required. Now all you printing tasks will be optimized.

  45. Also new to version 3.0 is a clearly written 16 page manual that will
  46. lead you through the installation and operation of OutBurST! Among
  47. the new features is the setup editor (OBSET) that will allow you to
  48. set the spooler size and select programs that should not utilize the
  49. spooler (Pagestream, Calamus, Touch-up, Desktop Publisher ST, etc.).
  50. If you wish to override the automatic spooler status, the OutBurST!
  51. Control Accessory can be used to change the setting while in any GEM
  52. application.
