  3. Welcome to the Digi-Muisc-Demos Vol.1
  4. This is the final incarnation of these
  5. pieces of music.If you did not know,
  6. they were released in a slightly
  7. diffent form a few months ago but I
  8. was not happy with the result and so
  9. I stepped aside to revamp them.
  10. The main reason for this new disk is
  11. that I have just had an STe and to my
  12. horror my favourite music package 
  13. (quartet) refused to play the pieces
  14. with as good quality as the STFM,
  15. flippin 'eck I thought !
  16. I have just spent around a year on
  17. and off getting the pieces ready &
  18. they dont work properly on the STe.
  19. I phoned up Rob Povey(creator of
  20. quartet) and he said he had known
  21. about the problem with the STe but
  22. wasn't going to do anything about it.
  23. Anyway luckily I got hold of the
  24. new source code for quartet playback
  25. with an STe option for stereo.
  26. So here is the result.
  27. Once you have loaded one of the songs
  28. press:-
  29. 1..STe
  30. 2..STFM(YM etc.)
  31. 3..PLAYBACK cartridge
  32. 4..REPLAY cartridge
  33.  
  34. I find the best option to be REPLAY
  35. even on an STe as this gives you
  36. the best bass and clarity.
  37. If you choose option 2 on an STe
  38. you will see the problem I
  39. mentioned earlier(the bug is still
  40. there in the new code).

  43. as it has given me great pleasure
  44. writing it.

  46. By the way a bug I have discovered
  47. is that sometimes when you press 1
  48. for STe nothing happens,if this
  49. happens then just press SPACE to
  50. get out and load up the demo and 
  51. try again it will work OK then.
  52. This bug also happens in the 
  53. commercial version of quartet 1.5
  54.
