SpaceJest:
~~~~~~~~~~
A text adventure game. No graphics (except for a rather dodgy anim if you
win). Commands are typed at the keyboard and descriptions of your location
and the results of your actions are shown on screen. Simple concept, but
there are some tricky puzzles.
This is the shareware version. Full version does not contain the shareware
reminder notice, and has the user's name coded into it.
Doc file is in AmigaGuide format, so it requires AmigaGuide or Multiview to
be read properly.
Program requires Amos.library to be in Libs:
Version 1.3 / 941001. First release. Binary only.
Required files:
SpaceJest The Program
SpaceJest.info its icon
Adventext.dat Game data file
SpaceJest.Guide Amiga Guide format doc.
SpaceJest.Guide.info its icon
Amos.library Amos Pro library.
+ a suitable viewer for the .Guide file.
HAL9001:
~~~~~~~~
An attempt to generate some sort of Artificial Intelegence. Sort of. The
program is able to generate gramatically correct sentences (most of the
time) using words from a dictionary of nouns, verbs, etc that is updated
from what the user inputs. You can have some really strange conversations
with this program.
Blow your friends' minds by turning on the speak option (requires an Amiga
with the speech library/device/etc)
Doc file is in AmigaGuide format, so it requires AmigaGuide or MultiView to
be read properly.

The Insult Construction Kit (TICK):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A small CLI/Shell program that was one of the forerunners to HAL9001. This
program insults you. It does this by pulling a random insult from the data
file. The insults are split into three segments, each of which is
randomised, so from a 10x10x10 item file, you get up to 1000 different
insults. Wow!?
This program is also GREAT fun with speech.
Requires no additional files.
C source code included.
Version 1.0 / 940730. First release.
Required files:
Insult The program
Insult.info its icon (not really required)
Insult.Doc The documentation
Insult.Doc.info its icon
Insult.C The source
Insult.C.info its icon
+ A C compiler would be useful if you want to use the source!
TempConv:
A last minute addition to go as a companion to Insult. This program simply
converts between the Celcius and Farenheit temperature scales.
Also a CLI/Shell only program.
Requires no additional files.
Doc is included in Insult.Doc.
Binary only (sorry...)
Version 1.0. First release.
Required files
TempConv The program
TempConv.info its icon (not really required)
NOTES:
~~~~~~
All programming, concepts and design for all programs was by Simon Champion,
with some assistance from those mentioned in the credits in the various doc
files. All icons on the disk (except for the Source code icon) were drawn
by myself. The Pegasus Software disk icon is copyright.
All icon files by myself on this disk are public domain except for the
Pegasus Software disk icon. The only restriction is that my name must remain
attatched to the icons' tool types.
I developed these programs with:
An Amiga 500 with 3 megs of memory (½ meg chip). KS 1.2 and WB 1.3.
(and more recently:)
An Amiga 4000/30 with 4 megs of memory. KS/WB 3.0
I have tested these programs on:
An Amiga 4000/30 with 4 megs of memory and 210 meg HD. KS/WB 3.0
An Amiga 500 with 3 megs of memory (½ meg chip). KS 1.2 and WB 1.3.
An Amiga 500 with 1 meg of memory (½ meg chip). KS/WB 1.3
The only problem I've experienced with the A500s was sometimes a slight
speed problem when HAL9001 worked at building a sentence. Other than that,
all these programs should work on any Amiga.
PS: I'm really chuffed with my new A4000!!!!
