  12. This version of Thing is exclusive to Atari Computing and our logo 
  13. features in the 'About' dialog. Do not upload or distribute this version 
  14. anywhere!
  15. The complete Thing distribution is widely available from all good 
  16. PD/Shareware libraries and on-line services. If you continue to use Thing 
  17. please register your copy. Atari Computing encourages and supports 
  18. Shareware authors.

  20. The contents of this folder are archived in TWO stages(!). This was 
  21. necessary to enable owners of floppy only systems with 1Mb memory or less 
  22. to extract the archive to floppies. The THING_AC.TOS self-extracting 
  23. archive contains a secondary archive called NOW_ME.TOS which must be 
  24. extracted after extracting THING_AC.TOS. Proceed as follows:

  26. To extract the archives to floppy

  28. - Copy THING_AC.TOS to floppy
  29. - Double click on THING_AC.TOS to extract the archive
  30. - Delete THING_AC.TOS
  31. - Open the THING folder
  32. - Double click on NOW_ME.TOS to extract the archive
  33. - Delete NOW_ME.TOS

  35. Hard disk systems
  36. -----------------
  37. - Copy THING_AC.TOS to a hard disk partition
  38. - Double click on THING_AC.TOS to extract the archive
  39. - Delete THING_AC.TOS
  40. - Open the THING folder
  41. - Double click on NOW_ME.TOS to extract the archive
  42. - Delete NOW_ME.TOS

  46. ST-Guide must be installed. Copy the contents of the GUIDES folder into 
  47. your local hypertext folder - normally a GUIDES folder in the root 
  48. directory of your boot partition/disk.
