  9. 1. Status
  10. ---------
  11. HP-Penguin 1.65 is SHAREWARE. The work on this program is enormous and
  12. I think    that a shareware fee of     20    DM is something    that everybody can
  13. afford.    So please support the work that    has    gone into this program and
  14. I promise that there'll be many more updates...
  15. After 14 days you have to register or remove this program from your
  16. harddisk. Unregistered users have some limitations: They have to wait
  17. longer and disturbing info messages appear. Sorry, but there were only
  18. a few registration although a lot of people are working with this
  19. program.

  40. 2. Improvements
  41. ---------------
  42. Version 1.3  - 1.451: HP-Penguin runs also as an Accessory and
  43. even under MultiTOS. This has been achieved by using the
  44. GFA-Flydial-Library 4.9 by Gregor Duchalski.
  45. Version 1.45 - 1.451: Complete translation of the comments!
  46.                       The headings can now be set seperately
  47.                       few bugs fixed in the German RSC-file
  48.                1.452: Bug fixes! English RSC should now work.
  49.                       Image name converted to lower case letters.

  65. 3. System requirements: 
  66. -----------------------
  67. Computer        : Atari ST/TT/Falcon
  68. Operating system: TOS 1.4 - 4.4, MultiTOS, MagiC(PC/Mac), Geneva
  69. Resolution      : 640 * 200 or higher
  70. Memory          : HP-Penguin will take about 120KB of memory.
  71. Application type: ACC or PRG. Pure GEM.

  73. With the HP-Penguin    you    can    create    your own HTML-page without knowing
  74. any    HTML-commands. You create it by    answering a    few    questions. You can
  75. choose a background, make a    two-column-text, insert    a picture and many
  76. more.
  77. Please note    that HP-Penguin    has    NOT     an    integrated editor. You have    to
  78. use    an editor to write the text    for    your web page (it must not contain
  79. html commands).    The    reason why    HP-Penguin    has     not an    own    editor is,
  80. that it    would increase the program    length dramatically. And there are
  81. already    some great    editors     around.  By  the  way,     the  Penguin will
  82. recognize the paragraphs  correctly     (okay,     it's  just     a very    stupid
  83. little routine that    sets a    paragraph  if  the    length    of the line    is
  84. lower than a user definged length).

  86. The program explains itself so it would be the best if you
  87. start it right now!

  89. This program has been written with GFA-Basic 3.5E on an
  90. Atari Falcon. It is inspirated by a similar program for
  91. Windows (Home Page Wizard).

  93. 4. The language
  94. ---------------
  95. As said before, HP-Penguin is bi-lingual German/English.
  96. A French version will follow soon.
  97.  
  98.  4.1 Falcon owners
  99.      You are lucky when you have a Falcon because HP-Penguin
  100.      will look at the _AKP-cookie and will load the correct
  101.      RSC-file. If the desktop language is set to other values
  102.      than German or English, HP-Penguin will automatically
  103.      choose the English resource file.
  104.  4.2 ST/TT owners, MagicPC/mac
  105.      If you are owner of an Atari ST/TT you have to choose
  106.      the language differently. There are two methods:
  107.      I) Rename one of the two resource files will cause
  108.         HP-Penguin to load the other.
  109.         Example: Rename HPPING.RSC to HPPING.RSX
  110.                  HP-Penguin will load HPPING_E.RSC.
  111.         This will also work on a Falcon.
  112.      II) Start the program without renaming one of the RSC-
  113.          files.
  114.          A box will appear with the question which language
  115.          you want to have.
  116.  4.3 Emulator users and ST compatibles
  117.      As I have no experience with Atari emulators or the new
  118.      clone machines, I can not say if you need to rename
  119.      the files or not.

  121. 5. Known bugs/limitations
  122. -------------------------
  123. 1. Please close the HP-Penguin window if you are using the
  124.    Penguin as an ACC under Single-TOS and are starting a
  125.    program!
  126. 2. Webspace 1.45 doesn't view HP-Penguin pages correctly. This is not
  127.    an error of the Penguin! Wait until a better version of this very young
  128.    program or use CAB to view the pages.

  130. 6. Future enhancements
  131. ----------------------
  132. * You can see one in the start dialogue: Load HTML file.
  133. * Perhaps I will use FaceValue for the next versions of HP-Penguin.
  134.   This would allow new features.
  135. * Support for tables and the 'Extended' & 'Freestyle' option in
  136.   the layout dialog.

  157.  Conversion of special characters between HTML, Windows, Atari and
  158. DOS (important for non-English texts). A conversion of paths is
  159. also possible.

  166.  * Runs also as an Accessory and fine with editors like Edith

  170.  9.2 Tabi!
  171.  Tabi converts ASCII tables which can be produced e.g. by Atari Works
  172.  via 'Import file...' to HTML 3 tables. You can set different font
  173.  styls, colours etc. for every cell. The file created by this program
  174.  can be insert in a HTML page and you have a table without typing a
  175.  single HTML command!

  179. HP-Penguin should run on all Atari computers. It has been successfully
