  8.    This edition of the Sega CD Rom Tricks list is not very complete. It is
  9.    a LOT better than the last update. Many new titles have been added. I
  10.    will continue to work on getting this updated.

  17. Black Hole Assault **

  20.      Kill Opponents Instantly - If you are having a hard time defeating
  21.      your enemies in this robot fighting game, try this cool method to
  22.      defeat your opponents with the push of a button. When the title
  23.      screen comes up, and your options are in front of you, choose the
  24.      "Name Entry" option. The Keyboard will then appear. Put in your
  25.      name as BIGNET. Exit this screen and when you are asked to select
  26.      your name, choose the name you just entered, BIGNET. In this game
  27.      you can fight as normal, but if you find yourself getting beat,
  28.      then take controller 2 and press the START button. This will
  29.      instantly kill your opponet. The eariler you kill off your opponet,
  30.      the better your score will be, because the timer adds points to
  31.      your score. This trick will work for every enemy in the game.

  33.      See All Cinema Displays - In Black Hole Assault, there is an easy
  34.      method to check out every cinema display. At the title screen,
  35.      choose the Name Entry option. After the screen comes up with the
  36.      keyboard, enter FOMA as your name. Once you do this go back to the
  37.      title screen and start your game. You will not be taken into the
  38.      game, however, instead you will be brought to a screen with
  39.      Japanese text. On this screen, uoi can choose which cinema you want
  40.      to automatically display. Choosing the last line of text means that
  41.      you want to see the ending of the game. The only way to get out of
  42.      this is to press the RESET button on your Genesis/Sega CD.

  44.      Black Ball Assult - Now you can play a "PONG" type game within this
  45.      great CD fighting game. Just go to the Name Entery Option and put
  46.      in the new name AZY on the keyboard. Once this is done, go back and
  47.      choose the Operation BHA on the title screen. When asked for your
  48.      name, highlight and choose the name AZY. The screen will change
  49.      into a new title screen called Black Ball Assault.

  55.      Level Passwords - Here are the level passwords for the Sony CD
  56.      version of Chuck Rock:

  64.      Training Mode - Go to the title screen where you can choose either
  65.      Game Start or Config Mode. Press UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN and
  66.      then START on controller 1. On the configuration screen you will be
  67.      able to select new diffculty levels, including "Training". If you
  68.      choose this option and start your game, if you crash you will start
  69.      from where you left off instead of the beginning.

  71.      Stage Select & Stage Skip - If you thought that this game was too
  72.      hard to finish here is a level select to help you make it along. On
  73.      the title screen, take controller 1 and press these buttons in this
  74.      order: UP, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, and UP. You can now start at any level
  75.      you want. When you start the game the screen will show: "STAGE 1", move
  76.      the D-Pad to the right or left to scroll through the diffrent levels.
  77.      (Finishing stage 9 will let you see the ending of the game!) By pressing
  78.      the START button as soon as the action starts after selecting your
  79.      starting stage, will display a message saying: "STAGE CLEARED" and
  80.      advance you to the next level.

  86.      Secret Scene - Whne the credits roll in the game, slide in one quick
  87.      motion C, B, and A. Then press the START button.

  93.      3-Up Loop for 99 Men - When you get to level 5 in the rocky caves,
  94.      there is a  3-Up loop that will give you 99 lives to help you complete
  95.      this complex adventure. When you begin, fall down the first chasm to
  96.      the right. At the bottom of this pit, walk to the right and while
  97.      avoiding the snakes and bats, sink and go underneath the rock. Move
  98.      to the right and keep jumping to get the leaf and 3-Up. Now die and
  99.      reapete this entire process again and again to max your lives out to 99.

  105.      Diffrent Perspective Replay - The manual that comes with the game doesn't
  106.      tell you about one cool feature in the Replay Mode. When you are in the
  107.      Replay Mode Screen, you can press the A, B, and C buttons to switch to
  108.      a "Behind the Quarterback," to a regular view. Also, if you press the
  109.      B button twice in this mode, the camera will switch to a "Football Eyes"
  110.      view of the game's replay.

  117.      Put the rock on the main computer to see the destructive cinema.

  123.      Behind the Scenes - This trick will not help you make a better
  124.      video, but is fun to watch because it gives information on the making
  125.      of the "Make My Own Video" CD. At the caller screen, press A,B,C and
  126.      then Right on the D-Pad. You will see the taping of the audio session.
  127.      In the middle of the film of these voice actors, Press START to see
  128.      the concept of the video making process and how it all started with
  129.      just a couple of ideas.

  135.      Hidden Color Video Clip - This trick will give you a hidden video clip
  136.      that is about 3 minutes long and is in FULL COLOR! To get this, go to
  137.      the Options Menu. At the Options Menu Press and Hold A, then B, and
  138.      then C. With these buttons held, then press RIGHT on the D-Pad and once
  139.      you do this, you will see some color footage of the actors making the
  140.      actual game.

  146.      Stage Select and Pause - On the title screen, press START to get
  147.      the Game Start and Option Mode choices. With controller 1, Press UP.
  148.      The pointer will move to the Options Mode (Make sure that you do not
  149.      move the pointer DOWN to the Options Mode, or the trick will not work).
  150.      The Options Mode will appear. Make sure your pointer is on the "Players"
  151.      Option. Stage Select - At the Players Option, press the A button 6 (six)
  152.      times. Exit the Options Mode and start the game. The stage select will
  153.      then appear. Pause - When the pointer is next to the "Players" option,
  154.      press the a button 4 (four) times, then the B button once, and then the
  155.      A button once again. At any time durning the game press the START button
  156.      to pause the action.

  162.      Stage Select - Go to the Option Mode from the Title Screen. In this
  163.      mode, set the Sound to 3A, the Level to Hard, and the CD-DA number to
  164.      the Stage from which you want to start. Now, press the B button and the
  165.      START button at the same time. You will now see a Continue Option on the
  166.      Title Screen. Now choose this Option to go to your selected Stage. You
  167.      can do this any time you start a new game and choose any level; all the
  168.      way up to the last stage.

  174.      Stage Select - When the Demo/Cinema Screen appears, press these buttons
  175.      in this order: DOWN, DOWN, UP, UP, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, A, B, and
  176.      START. When the title screen appears again press START. Now, a new option
  177.      will appear on the menu, "Stage Select" use this option to select from
  178.      the 12 stages of this game.

  180.      10 Continues - While the game is on continue 01 use controller 1 and then
  181.      wait for the opening/demo screen to start. While it is running, press
  182.      these buttons in this order: RIGHT, UP, A, B, C, LEFT, LEFT, DOWN, C, A,
  183.      and START. When the title screen appears again, press START again.

  185.      Replenish Your Shield - During the opening cinema of the game, take the
  186.      first controller and press these buttons in this exact order: RIGHT, LEFT,
  187.      A, RIGHT, UP, C, B, DOWN, LEFT, B, A, UP, and START. Start your game and
  188.      play as normal. When your shield is low, take the second controller and
  189.      press the A button repeatedly. Every time you press this button, one bar
  190.      of your shield will be replenished. This should help you get through the
  191.      game.

  197.      Stage Select, Sound Test and Debug Mode - These tricks will give you a
  198.      Stage Select, Sound Test and access to the Debug Mode. When the title
  199.      screen appears where it says "Press Start" - using controller 1 press:
  200.      UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, and B -- The Stage Select Screen will
  201.      then appear, choose the level you want from this screen. You can only
  202.      play the selected stage, then you will be taken back to the title screen.
  203.      For the Sound Test, go to the title screen and enter the following:
  204.      DOWN, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, and A. This will open the Sound Test mode.
  205.      Once the Sound Test Mode is open change the sound settings to the
  206.      following in this order:

  208.                         FM NO. 40, PCM NO. 12, DA NO. 11

  210.      Once you have played the above sounds, then press the START button and
  211.      if you have done it correctly, a picture of tales should appear. Now,
  212.      press the START button again. When you choose the time attack mode,
  213.      pressing B enables Sonic to walk through objects. Jump with buttons
  214.      A or C. In New game, press B to enter Debug (Edit) Mode. In this mode
  215.      press B to change into diffrent objects. Pressing C places the objects
  216.      on the screen. You can do this in any level.
