This chapter gives a few suggestions on creating your own Bookbinder-based stack.
First, make a copy of the original Bookbinder stack with a new name, so you will have the unaltered original for future projects. Customize the Title page as desired. Unlock and delete the contents of the "heading" and "text" fields from the remaining pages, and use the developer buttons* to remove the topics in the Table of Contents, remove the footnotes, and remove the Index entries. Do NOT delete the cards named: Title, Contents, Contents (cont), Notes, Index, Index (cont), or Help.
You may fill in your own text and illustrations as desired. Each time you add or delete a card, a button appears called "Update Page Nos". Upon pressing this button, the Book-binder scripts will update all page numbers, including those in footnotes, the Table of Contents, and the Index. Since this updating process may take a minute or two, you may wish to wait until the end of the session to bring the page numbers up to date.
To add topics to the Table of Contents, to add footnotes, and to add Index entries, use the appropriate developer buttons. The card ids of the appropriate cards may be obtained from HyperCard's "Card Info" dialog.
