  2. What the heck is it?

  5. I received this demo as an lhwarp archive from ab20.larc.nasa.gov
  6. via ftp on a Sun 4/60. There was a text file which had been made
  7. executable in the lhwarp file, it was corrupt, so it's gone.
  8.  
  9. This archive contains a fully authorized (I'm told) demo of the
  10. new LucasFilm (tm) game "The Secret of Monkey Island" (c). It's
  11. really neat, in my opinion. Awfully funny game!

  13. How do I get it working?
  14. ------------------------

  16. Ok, easy question...two possibilities.
  17.  
  18. 1) run it from a HD.
  19.  
  20. 2) put it on a floppy or in a RAM disk.
  21.

  23. If you wish to put it on a HD, which works fine, then:
  24.  
  25. o copy all the files from the ROOT of the archive, ie.
  26.  
  27.   MonkeyDemo
  28.   MonkeyDemo.info
  29.   .info
  30.  
  31.   to a directory on the HD with any name you wish...
  32.   in the same directory make a subdirectory named "Rooms" and
  33.   copy all the files in the Rooms directory there.

  35.   The HD_Install script will do this for you if you wish use it
  36.   like this:

  38. Shell> HD_Install <HD Partition>
  39.  
  40.   where <HD Partition> is DH0:, DH1:, FH0:, whatever...
  41.   
  42.  
  43. For a floppy.
  44.  
  45. o copy ALL of the files to any empty, formatted disk, then install it.
  46.   this is done by:

  48. Shell> install <drive>
  49.  
  50.   The Floppy_Install script will do this for you, use it like this:

  52. Shell> cd <to where the Monkey Island files are>
  53. Shell> Floppy_Install <drive>
  54.  
  55.   where <drive> is DF0:, DF1:, etc.
  56.  
  57.  
  58. Now just double click on the Demo icon and have fun!
