  5.                     MAGELLAN STATUS REPORT

  9. 1.  The Magellan spacecraft is performing nominally.  Starcals 
  10.     continue to be very successful..
  11.  
  12. 2.  The spacecraft is nearing the end of the M1354 command 
  13.     sequence which began on December 20th.  This sequence 
  14.     included two 30-minute cooling periods in each orbit, 
  15.     and continues the left-look mapping to fill-in areas 
  16.     missed near the end of Cycle 1.

  18. 3.  Late today, controllers will send up the M2004 sequence, 
  19.     which has two 20-minute cooling periods and will continue 
  20.     to the end of Cycle 2 on January 17th with only periodic      
  21.     tweaks..
  22.  
  23. 4.  As of 12:49 PM PST, Magellan has completed 3385 mapping 
  24.     orbits of Venus..
