AMT1.4
IF YOU REMOVE THE YELLOW TRAFFIC AND IDLE LIGHTS AND THE FOURTH
GREEN LIGHT FROM BOTH ENDS OF THE FREQUENCY DISPLAY AND SWAP THEM
AND THEN DO THE ALIGNMENT MODIFICATION BELOW, YOU WILL HAVE A
PRECISION DISPLAY. BE CAREFUL TO OBSERVE THE POLARITY REVERSAL ON
THE LEDS. THE YELLOW ONES ARE MOUNTED UPSIDE DOWN ON THE BOARD FROM
THE WAY THE GREEN ONES ARE MOUNTED. IT WILL BE OBVIOUS WHEN YOU HAVE
THEM RIGHT. THEY SHOULD MATCH THEIR NEIGHBORS.
THERE IS SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENT OF THE DISPLAY ALIGNMENT NEEDED TO
GET THEM CORRECT BUT WHEN THEY ARE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET WITHIN
10 HZ OF ANYONE WITH ALL THE LIGHTS OUT AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU
WILL HAVE CONVERTED THE STATUS DISPLAY TO SHOW A GREEN (GO)
INDICATION WHEN YOU ARE SYNCED PROPERLY TO A STATION.
DO A DISPLAY ALIGNMENT PER BOOK INSTRUCTIONS (PAGE 8, PARAGRAPH
10.3) AND THEN FINE TUNE IT. TO FINE TUNE, FEED THE AMT-1 A TONE OF
2125 AND ADJUST RV3 IN THE DIRECTION TOWARD THE RIGHT HAND YELLOW
LED OF THE FREQUENCY DISPLAY. THEN FEED 2295 TO THE UNIT AND ADJUST
RV4 THE SAME WAY FOR THE LEFT SIDE. GO BACK AND FORTH ON THE TWO
TONES AND POTS UNTIL YOU HAVE THEM PRECISELY TUNED TO MARK AND SPACE
ON THE YELLOW LEDS. TUNE IN A SIGNAL OF KNOWN ACCURACY (SEE MODS
NUMBER 6, 8, AND 9) AND MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU MOVE SLIGHTLY OFF
THE SIGNAL FAR ENOUGH THAT THE ADJACENT LED STARTS TO LIGHT THAT THE
SAME THING HAPPENS ON THE OTHER END OF THE DISPLAY.
