COMMPC Version 1.0
QUICK LOOK
Here is your disk containing all the programs needed to get the
COMMPC Version 1.0 up and running on your IBM PC or compatible
computer working with MS-DOS Version 2.11 or later. The programs
included on the disk are:
COMMPC.COM The stand-alone communications program.
COMMPC.MAN The manual explaining the use of COMMPC in
detail.
RAMDISK.COM A program to install a RAMDISK in your com-
puter. (RAMDISK is required if you want to
save incoming traffic to a disk file.)
COMMPC.BAS The ZBASIC source file for COMMPC.COM.
READ.ME This quick look at the COMMPC program.
Both COMMPC.MAN, the program manual, and READ.ME are provided
already formatted to be printed out using the MS-DOS PRINT
command. Make sure the top edge of your paper is even with the
top edge of the ribbon and print out the files.
In order to utilize RAMDISK you must add the following line to
your CONFIG.SYS file:
DEVICE=RAMDISK.COM *nnn
where nnn is the size of the RAMDISK to be installed in Kbytes.
The size may be anywhere between 16 and 900 Kbytes. If no size
is specified, the program defaults to 180 Kbytes. The drive
designation for the RAMDISK will be one higher than the last
drive currently logged into the system. For example, if you
have a two floppy drive system, the RAMDISK becomes drive C:
Now, go ahead and print out the manual and happy COMMPCing!
