  1.           REMINGTON NUMBERS SCHEDULE

  3.    Remington is a U.S. (!) military installation in the Wash. DC
  4. area. It is one of the few sites that transmit numbers codes that
  5. has been physically located. The purpose of numbers transmissions
  6. has yet to be proven conclusively by anyone, but a whole branch
  7. of the shortwave listening hobby is devoted to this task.
  8.    They are supposedly a code that can be translated by a method
  9. such as a "one-time pad" into useful information, such as (some
  10. say) directives to spies operating in the field.
  11.    Until recently, all numbers transmissions were thought to
  12. originate OUTSIDE the U.S. - the Remington facility has proved 
  13. otherwise. Advice: draw your own conclusions, but don't take it
  14. too seriously !
