Model 76/77 Power Management Utilities V1.0, 76POWER
----------------------------------------------------
This package is made up of the following files:
76POWER DOC05AG4 - This Document
M76PMO EXE05AG4 - Power Management utility for OS/2
M76PMD DSK05AG4 - LOCAL BUS GRAPHICS DISKETTE #1 (version 1.1)
LOADDSKF EXE05AG4 - Executable file used to create M76PMD diskette
The files, DSK and EXE, once downloaded with the binary option,
needs to be unpacked using LOADDSKF (provided with the package)
and by running the self extracting file respectively.
NOTE: More installation detail below.
As a result of ordering this package, you will receive three
files.
1) M76PMO EXE05AG4 : This is a self-extracting ZIP file
containing the Power Management Utility for OS/2. After
downloading to your PC, type M76PMO. This will produce a
README file with further instructions.
2) M76PMD DSK05AG4: This is a disk image file of the Local Bus
Graphics Device Driver Diskette for DOS/Windows version 1.1
This diskette contains the Power Management Utility for
DOS/Windows, and is also shipped with the systems. See the
README files on the diskette, or refer to the documentation
shipped with the system (Enhanced Local Bus Graphics Device
Driver Installation Instructions) for installation
instructions.
3) After downloading the files to your PC, create the diskette:
a. Insert blank diskette into diskette drive
b. Change to directory where the files were downloaded
c. Type loaddskf m56pmd.dsk a:
(where "a" is the diskette drive containing the
the diskette).
TO DOWNLOAD IF YOU'RE NOT ON PCWIN: (USE PF5 TO DOWNLOAD ON PCWIN)
Once the EXEBIN file has been sent to you, you will have to
"receive" it to you VM A-disk. You can do this using your locations
VM reader command that is set up on your particular VM system.
The next step is to download the file to your PC. There are many
programs available to do this. However, depending on the Operating
System, the Emulator program and the up-load/down-load facility
available on your PC, the actual command's may differ.
An example of how to down-load using the Send/Receive facility
with DOS, at the "c" prompt type:
"Receive h:FileName FileType c:\Temp\FileName.FileType /b"
or
"Receive h:f/n exebin c:\Temp\f/n.EXE /b"
An example of how to down-load using the ALMCOPY facility
with DOS, is very similar. At the "c" prompt type:
"Almcopy ha:FileName FileType c:\Temp\FileName.FileType /b"
or
"Almcopy ha:File/Name exebin c:\Temp\FileName.exe /b"
An example of how to down-load using the ALMCOS2 facility
with OS/2 in also very similar. At the "c" prompt type:
"Almcopy ha:FileName FileType c:\Temp\FileName.FileType /b"
or
"Almcopy ha:FileName exebin c:\Temp\FileName.exe /b"
Again, though each of the above examples look similar,
the actual up-load/down-load procedures may and usually do differ
from location to location. In many cases, IBM locations use the
capability within Communications Mgr of OS/2 and do not have a separate
facility or program for performing the up-load/down-load function.
You should check with your PC administrator to find the exact facility
and correct procedure for performing this process on your system.
