  1. Interim Fix for APAR JR08226
  2. ============================

  4. Note: This is a temporary fix for APAR JR08226
  5.       and NOT an official Select / Service Pak.
  6.  
  7. This fix solves a problem for installing DB2/2 v1.2 on OS/2 WARP Version 3.
  8. Previously DB2/2 and DDCS/2 could only be installed on OS/2 2.0 and 2.1.
  9. This fix enables the installation of DB2/2 v1.2 on an OS/2 release later
  10. than 2.1.

  13. Pre-Requisites

  16. The fix can be applied to GOLD versions (Syslevel WR07000) of:
  17.          DB2/2 v1.2 Single-User and Client/Server packages
  18.

  20. Applying the Fix
  21. ----------------
  22.         WARPSING.ZIP ...fix for DB2/2 v1.2 Single-User

  25. Applying Fix to CD ROM Version:
  26.  
  27. 1. Create Diskette Number 1 according to the language of DB2/2 you like
  28.    from your CD Image. For example:
  29.    -> copy X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK1\*.* A:
  30.  
  31. 2. Make the files to be changed read-only
  32.     ATTRIB A:\DBCID2.EXE -R
  33.     ATTRIB A:\DBINST2.EXE -R
  34.  
  35. 3.Unzip WARPSING.ZIP to the Diskette to overwrite the files from 2)
  36.     -> Change to the directory on your HD where you downloaded the Fix.
  37.     -> Unzip the Files to the Diskette you created and allow overwriting
  38.          (unzip option -o):
  39.          PKUNZIP2 -o WARPSING.ZIP A:

  41. 4. Start installing from Diskette 1
  42.  
  43. 5. When the installation prompts for following diskettes or path for the images
  44.     overwrite with your image path for the diskette requested:
  45.     X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK2
  46.     X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK3
  47.     X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK4
  48.     X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK5
  49.     X:\GERMANY\DSKIMAGE\DB22\DISK6

  51. 6. Finish installation and reboot when asked to.
