  15.  The complete product consists of the following seven files:
  16.  (WSOS21.EXE) contains the installation program, (WSOS22.EXE)
  17.  contains the requester files, (WSOS23.EXE) contains the Windows
  18.  libraries and RPL files, (WSDRV1.EXE) contains the LAN drivers,
  19.  (OS2UT1.EXE) contains LOGIN, NLIST, MAP, CX, SYSCON utilities,
  20.  (OS2DC1.EXE) contains the electronic documentation in OS/2 IPF
  21.  format, and (OS2VMB.EXE) contains the VLM Boot diskette image.

  115.  INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS for the NetWare Client for OS/2 version
  116.  2.11
  117.  
  118.  This client product supports all OS/2 2.x releases made before
  119.  December 19, 1994, and replaces all previous 2.x versions of
  120.  the NetWare Client for OS/2.
  121.  
  122.  NOTE: If you have OS/2 1.3, you need to obtain the NetWare
  123.  Requester 1.3 for OS/2 instead of this product.
  124.  
  125.  The NetWare Client for OS/2 version 2.11 consists of seven
  126.  self-extracting files: WSOS21.EXE contains the installation
  127.  program WSOS22.EXE contains the requester files WSOS23.EXE
  128.  contains the Windows libraries and RPL files WSDRV1.EXE
  129.  contains the LAN drivers OS2UT1.EXE contains LOGIN, NLIST, MAP,
  130.  CX, SYSCON utilities OS2DC1.EXE contains the electronic
  131.  documentation in OS/2 IPF format OS2VMB.EXE contains the VLM
  132.  Boot diskette image

  134.  Once these files are downloaded, there are 3 methods that can
  135.  be used to complete the installation of the NetWare Client for
  136.  OS/2 version 2.11:
  137.  
  138.  Method 1: Extract to Network Drive/Install From Network Drive
  139.  
  140.  Method 2: Extract to Hard Drive/Make Diskettes/Install From
  141.            Diskettes
  142.  
  143.  Method 3: Extract to Diskettes/Install From Diskettes
  144.  
  145.  Instructions for each method follow.
  146.

  148.  Method 1: Extract to Network Drive/Install From Network Drive
  149.  
  150.  NOTE:     You must have a version of the NetWare Client
  151.  software already installed on your workstation and be connected
  152.  to the network in order to use this install method.  You cannot
  153.  install to and from the same drive. Example: You cannot install
  154.  from C: to C:
  155.  
  156.  1.   To install the NetWare Client software to your hard disk,
  157.  you must have adequate disk space to allow for the client to
  158.  install. (about 4 MB)
  159.  
  160.  2.   At the network drive, create a directory called TEMP.
  161.  This directory can be deleted later.
  162.  
  163.       Example:  At the J:\ prompt, type
  164.  
  165.            MD TEMP
  166.  
  167.  3.   Extract WSOS21.EXE, WSOS22.EXE, WSOS23.EXE, WSDRV1.EXE,
  168.  OS2UT1.EXE, and OS2DC1.EXE into the TEMP directory.  The self
  169.  extracting file will automatically create the required
  170.  subdirectories.  Change to the directory where WSOS21.EXE,
  171.  WSOS22.EXE, WSOS23.EXE, WSDRV1.EXE, OS2UT1.EXE, and OS2DC1.EXE
  172.  reside.  DO NOT change to the TEMP directory.
  173.  
  174.       Example:  At the command line, type
  175.  
  176.            WSOS21 J:\TEMP\
  177.  
  178.  Do this for each self extracting file in turn.  This will
  179.  extract all the files into the TEMP subdirectory.
  180.  
  181.  4.   In an OS/2 Command Line Session, CD into the TEMP
  182.  directory and type INSTALL.  The NetWare Client for OS/2
  183.  Installation screen will appear. Follow the instructions that
  184.  appear on the screen to install the NetWare Requester on the
  185.  workstation. NOTE: Make sure and place the local disk drive
  186.  letter as the target directory.
  187.  
  188.  5.   Delete your TEMP directory if desired.

  191.  Method 2: Extract to Diskettes/Install From Diskettes
  192.  
  193.  1.   Format six 3.5" high density double-sided diskettes.
  194.  
  195.  2.   Label each diskette with the following names:
  196.       Disk 1    WSOS2_1
  197.       Disk 2    WSOS2_2
  198.       Disk 3    WSOS2_3
  199.       Disk 4    WSDRV_1
  200.       Disk 5    OS2UTIL1
  201.       Disk 6    OS2DOC_1
  202.  
  203.       Example:  At the command line, type
  204.  
  205.            Label A: WSOS2_1
  206.  
  207.  2.   Extract the .EXE files to their corresponding diskettes.
  208.  The correct directory structure will be created automatically
  209.  on the diskettes. Self-extract WSOS21.EXE onto WSOS2_1,
  210.  WSOS22.EXE onto WSOS2_2, etc.

  212.       Example:  At the command line, type
  213.  
  214.            WSOS21 A:
  215.  
  216.  3.   After creating the six diskettes, insert the disk labeled
  217.  WSOS2_1 diskette in drive A.
  218.  
  219.  4.   Open the drive A: icon on your desktop and open the
  220.  INSTALL.EXE program. The NetWare Client for OS/2 install screen
  221.  appears.
  222.  
  223.  5.   Follow the instructions on the screen or in the manual to
  224.  complete the install.

  227.  Method 3: Extract to Hard Drive/Make Diskettes/Install From
  228.  Diskettes
  229.  
  230.  1.   Create the following subdirectories on your hard disk:
  231.  WSOS2_1, WSOS2_2, WSOS2_3, WSDRV_1, OS2UTIL_1, and OS2DOC_1.
  232.  
  233.       Example:  At the C:\ prompt, type
  234.  
  235.            MD WSOS2_1
  236.  
  237.  2.   Extract the .EXE files into their corresponding
  238.  subdirectories, the correct directory structure will be created
  239.  in each subdirectory.  WSOS21.EXE into WSOS2_1, WSOS22.EXE into
  240.  WSOS2_2, etc.
  241.  
  242.       Example:  At the command line, type
  243.  
  244.            WSOS21 C:\WSOS2_1\
  245.  
  246.  3.   Format six 3.5" high density double-sided diskettes.
  247.  
  248.  4.   Label each diskette with the following names:
  249.       Disk 1    WSOS2_1
  250.       Disk 2    WSOS2_2
  251.       Disk 3    WSOS2_3
  252.       Disk 4    WSDRV_1
  253.       Disk 5    OS2UTIL1
  254.       Disk 6    OS2DOC_1

  256.  Example:  At the command line, type
  257.  
  258.            Label A: WSOS2_1
  259.  
  260.  5.   Insert diskette labelled WSOS2_1 into drive A:.
  261.  
  262.  6.   Change directory to WSOS2_1 on your hard disk.
  263.  
  264.  7.   Type the following at the command line:
  265.  
  266.            XCOPY *.* /S /E /V A:
  267.  
  268.  8.   Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the remaining five diskettes.
  269.  Ensure that the files are copied from the correct directory to
  270.  the corresponding labelled diskettes.
  271.  
  272.  9.   After creating the six diskettes, insert WSOS2_1 diskette
  273.  in drive A.
  274.  
  275.  10.  Open the drive A: icon on your desktop and open the
  276.  INSTALL.EXE program. The NetWare Client for OS/2 install screen
  277.  appears.
  278.  
  279.  11.  Follow the instructions on the screen or in the manual to
  280.  complete the install.

  283.  SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR VLM BOOT
  284.  
  285.  OS2VMB.EXE contains a DOS boot image file and a Novell DOS 7
  286.  image utility (DISKCOPY.COM).
  287.  
  288.  IMPORTANT:  DISKCOPY.COM can only be run from an actual DOS
  289.  workstation, not from an OS/2 DOS session.
  290.  
  291.  Instructions for Creating the VLM Boot Diskette:
  292.  
  293.  1.  On the actual DOS workstation, create a subdirectory named
  294.      VLMBOOT.
  295.  
  296.  2.  Copy OS2VMB.EXE to the newly created VLMBOOT directory.
  297.  
  298.  3.  Extract OS2VMB.EXE by running it.
  299.  
  300.  4.  Insert a 1.44 MB formatted diskette into drive A:.
  301.  
  302.  5.  Change to the VLMBOOT subdirectory.
  303.  
  304.  6.  Create the image disk by typing DISKCOPY VLMBOOT.350 A:
  305.
