Free Agent is a free Windows program that enables you to read and participate in ongoing Internet group discussions via Usenet newsgroups. Tens of thousands of newsgroups are devoted to virtually every topic under the sun -- from knitting to high finance and from dating to decoding DNA -- and Free Agent is one of the better programs available for accessing them.
To install this program, click the install button. Free Agent's setup program walks you through installing the software and setting it up to work with your Internet service provider. You need to know the names of your mail and news servers, also called your SMTP and NNTP servers, in order to tell Free Agent how to access the Internet through your ISP.
