  8. DESCRIPTION:
  9.  
  10. Many different registry formats and access protocols ((r)whois(++)) for
  11. Internet registries exist right now but cannot cooperate together. RIDE
  12. explores the technical aspects and possibilities for an exchange schema
  13. for at least Internet IP, routing and domain registries. This schema will
  14. allow any Internet registry technology to work together with others for
  15. most basic operations that are interesting from a global perspective. The
  16. schema will be kept as simple as possible to allow for a minimal effort
  17. for supporting RIDE in the current existing registry technologies. Work
  18. has already commenced on a draft on the data types that were considered
  19. most urgent right now (domain and personal data). More information is

  33.   contentious issues which are identified by the authors.

  45.   It is the intention that we will try to identify the direction for a
  46.   simple and quickly implemantable solution and make decisions on the
  47.   features that we will support and not support, with the conditions as
  48.   put forward in our charter.
