  4. Minutes of the AToMMIB Working Group

  10. The working group discussed three items:
  11.  
  12. o  SONET/SDH MIB - RFC1595
  13. o  ATM MIB - RFC1695
  14. o  Supplemental ATM MIB - I-D

  17. 1.  SONET/SDH MIB
  18.  
  19. o 3 Implementation reports were presented, indicating so significant 
  20.   implementation problems.
  21. o The issues list was resolved (assuming resolution of issues common with 
  22.   other Trunk MIBs-see TrunkMIB Working Group).
  23. o The working group agreed with updating the document and proposing it to 
  24.   the NMAD for further processing as Draft Standard.
  25. o An I-D will be posted accommodating the agreements.

  27. 2.  ATM MIB
  28.  
  29. o All open issues were resolved.  It was agreed that a revised RFC1695 needs 
  30.   to be compared with the Supplemental ATM MIB in order to ensure 
  31.   sensible grouping of objects in the respective documents.
  32. o An I-D will be posted accommodating the agreements.

  34. 3. Supplemental ATM MIB
  35.  
  36. o It was agreed to move Accounting information to a separate MIB module.  
  37.   An I-D will be posted as soon as possible.
  38. o The scope of the current Supplemental MIB should be restricted to UNI 3.1 
  39.   (except in cases where UNI 4.0 work is already solid and straightforward).  
  40.   UNI 4.0 work should be subject to future separate documents.
  41. o The testing information depends on discussions in the IFMIB Working 
  42.   Group.  The proposal is to move the ATM tests to a separate document 
  43.   together with the ifTestTable.
  44. o Soft PVCs could not be fully discussed.  Discussion should continue on the 
  45.   mailing list.  If quick resolution can be achieved the result should be 
  46.   incorporated in 1695/Supplemental MIB.  Otherwise the work should 
  47.   continue by a rechartered ATOMMIB Working Group.
  48. o A new I-D will be posted accommodating the agreements.  The intent is to 
  49.   wrap this up as soon as possible.

  51. 4. General Issues
  52.  
  53. The current charter calls for wrapping up the Supplemental MIB soon.  To 
  54. deal with issues such as UNI 4.0 and Accounting information the NMAD will 
  55. be requested to recharter the working group for these purposes.  SPVCs and 
  56. Testing could be added if discussions on these issues cannot be concluded 
  57. soon.
