Aims:
-----
Based on the same rules and scoring system as the BBC Top Gear and Grand Prix
magazines Fantasy Formula One game. This program helps you keep track of the
points scored by a number of fantasy teams throughout the F1 season. These could
be teams that you have entered for Top Gears Fantasy F1 game or teams that you
and friends have picked for a competition between yourselves.
The name of the game is to win the world championship for your team by picking
two drivers and two cars from those racing. You can put any drivers in any cars.
Then you score points throughout the season based on their performances. But,
like the real thing, success is more a matter of skill and expertise than
playing safe. You can't just pick the obvious big-money line-up and expect to
win, every team has a chance of winning, because of the sophisticated scoring
and handicapping system.
********************************************************************************
Compatibility:
--------------
This application is only suitable for use with RISC OS 3.10 or later and needs
180K free to run.
The following Acorn Toolbox modules are required: Toolbox, Window, Menu, DCS,
Iconbar, ProgInfo, FileInfo, SaveAs, PrintDbox, FontDbox and FontMenu.
It has been tested on a Risc PC 600 with an epson stylus printer.
********************************************************************************
Rules:
------
1. The team has a budget agreed at the beginning of each season, that you spend
on a team consisting of two drivers and two cars.
2. Your team cars can both be the same or different makes, but you must pick two
different drivers.
3. If you spend less than the budget allocated you will accrue bonus points, if
you spend more you will suffer penalty points.
4. Your driver only scores when they are racing, and your nominated cars and
drivers must be classified by the FIA as a finisher to score points.
5. Each cars score is based on the highest placed finishing car of that make.
6. Substitutes don't count. If your driver loses there set, they are out of the
championship.
7. The winner is the team with the highest score at the end of the season. If
more than one team has a matching highest score the team with the most wins
wins the championship.
********************************************************************************
