Directions for use
------------------
Use SoundCon (the sound sample player/converter from Rick Hudson) - which is
freeware - to convert any desired startup samples into a "Voice mod" type
(choose 'Voice', 'Fixed freq' and 'Fixed vol' options from sub-menu). When
the volume, etc sounds about right, save the converted sample into the
samples directory inside !StartUp (you may use *any* filenames you like).
The !StartUp application should be run from a boot file or (ideally) placed
inside the Choices.Boot.PreDesk folder.
A random sample now plays whenever the computer is booted up!
Freeing up RAM
--------------
It is also wise to RMKill the module at the end of the boot sequence using
the file called ~SoundKill located inside !StartUp. This file should be
copied into the Choices.Boot.Tasks folder so that it's the last file
executed in the boot sequence. It will free up the RAM used by the
sample and restore the normal system beep.
Note: This limits the sample length to the duration of the !Boot sequence
which means that very long sample may be killed prematurely (if you like to
use long samples, and don't mind wasting some RAM then do not use
~SoundKill).
