FAXport can be un-installed by clicking on the Uninstall icon provided when installed into either the 16 bit environments of Windows and Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Windows 95 and Windows NT. When the icon is clicked a sub-set of the installation program, which is placed on your hard drive at the time of installation, will operate. All files and sub-directories that have been created or installed will be removed.
This procedure is done in order to provide more system resources if the FAXport program is no longer needed on a particular workstation.
Note:
Be certain that you are not running FAXport before running the uninstall program. If any files for the program are open or are being used you will not have a complete de-installation.
If you are using Windows 95 you may still need to edit the æTask BarÆ in order to remove the program items from your æStartÆ menu. Check with your Windows 95 manual for details on this procedure. The FAXport file folder is clearly identified for easy retrieval using this method.
This CD ROM contains two WINport 32 Bit Clients, each with different user procedures for Windows NT and Windows 95.
These programs allow you to re-direct the serial output of your Windows 32 bit and 16 bit terminal and fax software to a WINport modem server in your network.
The Windows NT and Windows 95 32 bit Clients are used as Windows services. Be certain that you understand how Services are used under these two operating systems.
Remember that while these two programs perform the same function, and work identically to WINport 16 bit client when used with a terminal program, their installation and startup are both very different from each other. Be certain to understand what specific steps are needed in order to make the software operate properly. This is particularly true with Windows 95, where a specific set of manual steps are needed to be carefully followed if the installation is to be successful.
In order to assist you there is extensive documentation provided with the WINport on-line documentation, help files, General Setup Guide and a special setup guide for the 32 bit client program itself.
Once the program is installed you will find the following files in several locations. The .hlp files will be connected to icons in the WINport group or through the program itself. The documents are found in the root directory of the CD ROM that the programs were installed from.
The WINport Setup Guide rev 3.2 is included in printed form in the box that the CD was shipped in. The wpclnt32.doc must be printed out by the user. The wp-onle.hlp contains the entire contents of wp50-32.doc and may be view on screen.
