  6.                Introduction

  8. The CDICT Chinese dictionary is a easy and cheap computer dictionary. 
  9. It has more than 9000 English vocabulary.

  12.                Requirement
  13.  
  14. The CDICT is require the following item :
  15.     1) IBM PC 286, 386 or 486                
  16.     2) Monochrome, CGA, MCGA, EGA or VGA (recommened)
  17.     3) 1.4M free space

  20.                Installation
  21.  
  22. After unzip, you shall have the following files in directory
  23.  
  24.    README.TXT           ;this file
  25.    CDICT.EXE            ;the main program
  26.    CGA.BGI              ;CGA graphic file
  27.    EVGVGA.BGI           ;EGA & VGA graphic file
  28.    HERC.BGI             ;HERC graphic file
  29.    DBF\                 ;Directory for Chinese Dictory Data

  31.    CHINESE.16           ;fan ti chinese font

  34.               Start CDICT 
  35.  
  36. Go to the directory which has the CDICT.EXE program, and type CDICT.
  37. The program will do all the setting for you!
  38.  
  39. Once entered, the choice of two major CDICT functions appear.
  40.      1. Search by English vocabulary, or
  41.      eg. English vocabulary : Hello
  42.  
  43.      2. Search by pattern
  44.      eg. For unsure English vocabulary : "hello" as a example
  45.      type "hell", the system will search the pattern that start with "hell". 
  46.      or
  47.      type "hel?o, the system will search the pattern that match the "hel?o"
  48.      ** using "?" for any char, same idea as the way in DOS **

  50. To return to the menu page, please press the return.

  53. =========================== REGISTERATION ================================
  54. The Un-Register user can only use a small part of CDICT english vocabulary 
  55. database (ie. a to e). On the other hand, the register user can use the 
  56. whole vocabulary database. 
  57.  
  58. To register is very simple, just fill the register form (CDICT.REG) 
  59. and sent it to the following address with $20AU.
