Welcome to MultiWriter!

Feel free to make copies of this trial diskette and to give
them to people who wish to write in other languages.
MultiWriter is a multilingual word processor that does not need
any hardware modifications. MultiWriter is the only multilingual
word processor that lets you print in more than 30 different
languages.
To install the MultiWriter trial disk please use this diskette to
boot your computer. When you see the A> prompt write MW DEMO and
press <Enter>.
The following languages can be written together with any
of the second box:

You can design your own fonts, with the Font Editor.
How to get the European accents and additional characters
The European accents and special characters used in Spanish,
French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Swedish, Dutch, Norwegian,
and Danish are written while in the English Mode, by pressing
<Alt> together with one of the <F> keys, after you have written
each respective letter.

How to change from one language to another
Press <F2> to change "English" in the Status Line, (bottom line
of the screen) to "Hebrew". (To change back to "English" press
<F2> again).
If you want Hebrew to be the main language, you can change the
direction of the screen by pressing <F4>.
The Hebrew keyboard layout is the following:

If you press <Shift> while writing Hebrew, you get Rashi script.
(The full program includes Keyboard labels, and a Keyboard Layout

Let's assume that now you want to write in Russian. Press <F10>,
the letter T and <Enter>. Press the letter C and move the cursor
over the word Russian. Press now <Enter> and the above Hebrew
letters will appear in Russian.
The Russian keyboard, (make sure that it says "Russian" in the
Status Line by pressing <F2>), is the following:

Keys used by MultiWriter
<Arrow keys> Move the cursor up, down, right or left.
<Del> Erases the character where the cursor is located.
<Backspace> Erases the character to the left of the computer
(or to the right in the Hebrew mode).
<Enter> Moves the cursor to the next line.
<Home> Moves cursor to the start of the line.
<End> Moves the cursor to the end of the line.
<PgUp> Moves the cursor to the previous screen.
<PgDn> Moves the cursor to the next screen.
<F1> Brings the Help screen.
<F2> Switches from one language to the other.
<F3> Toggles Justification (straight margins) on and off.
<F4> Changes direction of full screen (in Hebrew mode).
<F5> Toggles an audible click when pressing any key.
<F6> Saves the file being edited.
<F7> Marks a Begin Block at the cursor position.
<F8> Marks an End Block at the cursor position.
<F9> Toggles Auto Indent on (when Word Wrap is off)
causing the new line to start at the same column where the
previous line started.
<F10> Brings the Pull-Down menus to the screen. Move the
cursor to the desired one and press <Enter> to open it.
<Esc> Exists the Pull-Down menus and Help screens.
<Ctrl OW> Toggles Word Wrap on, carrying automatically words
from the end of one line to the beginning of the next one.
<Ctrl KP> Prints the file being edited (only a few lines with this Demo)
<Ctrl Y> Erases the line where the cursor is positioned
SORTING
To sort the following list place the cursor on the 8th line, column
4 and press <F7>. Now lower the cursor to the 18th line, column 4
and press <F8>. Press <F10> to pull down the menus, <B> for the
Block Menu, and <S> for the Sort option. Choose with the cursor
either Ascending or Descending and press <Enter>

To sort a table do the following:
1) Place the cursor in the upper left corner below the Heading
Line, under the letter C of the heading CODE NUMBER, and press <F7>
to mark the beginning of the block.
2) Place the cursor in the lower right corner at the end of the
table, under the number 4 (of 534), and press <F8> to mark the end
of the block.
3) Place the cursor in your chosen Sorting Field. If the Sorting
Field is a numerical field, place the cursor on the first digit
from the left of the largest number in the field. If it is an

4) Press <F10> to pull down the menus, <B> for the Block Menu and
<T> for the sorT option. Choose with the cursor either Ascending or
Descending, and press <Enter>. The table will be sorted according
to the field chosen as the Sorting Field.
Hebrew tables can, of course, be sorted too. If you are writing
from right to left. Remember that marking the begining of the block
with <F7> is done on the upper right corner of the block, and marking the
end of the block is done on the lower left corner of the block.

Now you draw the frame:
1) Put the cursor in the line above CODE NUMBER, one column to the left.
2) Press <F7>
3) Put the cursor in the line below the number 534, three columns to the right
4) Press <F8>
5) Press <F10>, the letters B, and A
6) Press the letters K, and H.
You can also insert text inside a box. First draw the box, turn
INSERT OFF, put the cursor inside the box and write.
Columns
You can have, in the The present example language can also be

How to write in columns:

It is recommended not to make the columns too narrow, but if you do it
is better to turn Justification OFF after writing the first column.
Optional Module
MultiWriter has the following optional module:
a) Translator This is a dictionary which helps you to find
the right translation from Hebrew to English,
or viceversa, inserting the translated word in
the proper place in the text. It is also a
bilingual spell checker.
Please note that because of of space limitations on this trial disk
of MultiWriter, only the Western European, Russian, Hebrew, and Rashi
script languages are supported. The MultiWriter trial disk only
supports 9 pin printers and only prints 8 lines of text. The full
program supports both 9 and 24 pin printers with an option of
purchasing laser fonts at $40.00 each. The MultiWriter trial disk also
does not save files. The trial disk includes 1 language for the help
screen, English. The full program includes Sanish, French, Russian,
German and Hebrew.
Because this is a trial diskette the documentation is not complete.

Keyboard Labels, the complete Program, Help, Screen and Printer fonts
