Update History 8-12-90
-----------------------
- Version 1.72 -
Fixed again: Stored files (-lh0-) sometimes were skewed by one byte.
Fixed: The extract process could get hung up if the last file in the
archive was very small, like less than 20 bytes.
Fixed: Reverse scrolling text that has lines longer than the screen width
used to display some duplicated text.
Fixed: After extracting, the default filename for the 'Show File' function
could get messed up when the archive contained folders.
- Version 1.71 -
Fixed a problem with 'Show File' that could occur in low memory operation.
'Show File' also remembers the path that is being used.
Some programs turn off the wrap-around function of GEM's screen drawing.
This caused long lines to be cut off at the edge of the screen, so UNLZH
now makes sure the wrap-around function is turned on.
- Version 1.7 -
'Show File' function has been added to the main menu. This function enters
the same file viewer as extract 'To Screen', but is for viewing text files
directly from disk. Select 'Show File', then use the GEM file selector to
enter the desired text file. The default filename gets set to the most
recent extracted file starting with 'READ' or having the extension 'TXT',
'DOC', or 'ASC'. This makes it easy to view a text file that has just been
extracted from an archive.
The 'View' archive function from the main menu can now send the listing to
a disk file. If you do select the 'Disk' button, you will get another GEM
file selector requesting the name of a file to write the text information
to. The listing has also been improved by adding the name of the archive
itself. This allows you to make a nice listing of multiple archives to
send to Disk or Printer. Select 'View', and leave the input filename set
to '*'. The function will then create a combined listing of all of the
archives in the directory.
Within the extract 'To Screen' viewer, (including the Show File function),
you may mark blocks of text to be sent to disk. This works in the same
manner as sending blocks to printer, but uses the 'D' key. Move the screen
display to the starting position you wish to save, and press 'D'. You will
then get a GEM file selector to enter the name of the output file. Then
move to the desired ending position, and press 'D' again. This will write
out the text file.
There have also been a few bug fixes including:
Subdirectories created with LHarc 1.13 are extracted properly.
Furthur improvements to handling files in low memory situations.
Installed application works correctly again. It would fail when a
configuration including pathnames had been saved.
- Version 1.61 -
UNLZH will now extract empty folders.
Adjustments have been made to the 'Bad Header' search routine to prevent it
from using additional headers in Stored archive files. It also eliminates
Bad Header messages that could occur at the end of archives that contained
other archive files.
Fixed some problems that could occur in low memory situations, plus made
the memory usage a bit more efficient.
Blocks of text can be sent to the printer from within the extract To Screen
function. The menu of archive contents now comes up with certain file types
already selected. See the extract To Screen section for more information.
Double-clicking is now supported from the menu of archive contents. It
selects the file and goes directly to the extraction process. If you are
selecting multiple files, you may use a double-click on the last one.
- Version 1.5 -
Extract to screen continues through multiple files correctly. View
function now requires either 'ESC', or both mouse buttons to continue.
Now supports pathname extraction from archives created with LHarc 1.01.
For display and file selection purposes, empty pathname entries show only
the last 13 characters, and all other entries show only the filename. In
all cases, the full pathname will be used when saving to disk. Partial
extractions using the w/Query mode are accepted, and will create whatever
folders are neccessary to place the file in its designated place.
Extracts self-extracting type archive files.
Fixed: Uncompressed files (-lh0-) could sometimes be skewed by 1 byte.
LHarc .51 does not store a CRC value for uncompressed files, therefore
UNLZH thought it was getting CRC errors. I now do a check for this
condition and instead report the message 'No CRC'. This means it is
impossible to verify if these files are okay. It's unfortunate that the
author of LHarc didn't realize that uncompressed files are just as
susceptible to transmission/media errors as compressed files are.
- Version 1.4 -
Fixed: If a configuration was saved before doing any extractions, the
program would crash the next time it was run.
Extract to Screen should be properly formatted for larger display sizes.
There are many new additions to the Extract to Screen function. See the
sections on 'To Screen' and 'View' for details. The flexibility of the
Extract to Screen, I feel, allows you to keep most of your documentation
files in LZH archive(s), and still have easy access to their information.
