  4.    STadel 3.3b, from which Fnordadel is a direct descendant, had a copyright
  5. notice on it, placed there by its principal author, David Parsons (orc).  In
  6. later conversation with him, he notified us that he had relinquished any
  7. copyright claim to STadel, and placed it in the public domain.  Either way,
  8. the wording of his copyright notice allowed distribution of public
  9. domain derivative products such as Fnordadel, so we've stuck to doing that.

  11.    The Fnordadel sources and binaries are in the public domain.  They may be
  12. freely distributed, modified or whatever you like.  If you do distribute
  13. or modify Fnordadel, please adhere to the following conditions:

  15.    - You may not charge more than a reasonable handling or materials fee for
  16.      Fnordadel sources or binaries.
  17.  
  18.    - Redistributions of Fnordadel must be complete, containing all programs,
  19.      documentation and other files present in the original distributions.
  20.  
  21.    - Redistributed versions of the original Fnordadel must not be altered
  22.      in any way.
  23.  
  24.    - Altered versions of Fnordadel must be plainly marked as such, and must
  25.      not be represented as the original Fnordadel.  In particular, they must

  39.    Fnordadel is the aggregate work of many people.  Chief among these are
  40. Cynbe ru Taren (CrT), who did the original Citadel for CP/M; H.A. White (Hue,
  41. Jr.) of Minneapolis, who ported Citadel to MS/DOS and created Citadel-86; and
  42. David L. Parsons (orc), who ported Citadel-86 to the Atari ST and created
  43. STadel.  We (Adrian Ashley and Royce Howland) took STadel and hacked it to
  44. create Fnordadel; any bugs and misfeatures should be assumed to be our fault
  45. alone, unless you're planning to sue.
