OMNI README DOCUMENTATION : July 14th, 1991
CACHE:
A Public Domain Cache program has been included with this ARC. I would
recommend that you use cache on all the drives that Omni is reading from or
writing to. This can speed up drive access time a great deal.
SI-RAM:
Si-Ram is also a Public Domain Utility which will create ramdisks and
printer spoolers. I would also recommend using this utility. Since OMNI
does support ramdisks, just create a ramdisk of around 50 to 100K
I would recommend a printer spooler of around 16 to 32K. It helps the
system speed greatly. One think I need to warn you about with this utility
SI-RAM; don't open a ram-disk over an already remaining disk, like the C:
drive for example. I made this mistake, and it ZEROED my hard drive C:.
Other than that, this utility works great.
** NOTE **
I can't truely say that Omni, will run totally smooth as a BBS, due to
the fact that I never tested it in that application. I did debug it as best
I could, and don't really see any errors. But did not run a BBS with it.
If and when you do run Omni, and experence an error, please drop us a few
lines in the mail. We will fix that and the next version of omni will be
available off GEnie or from the Home BBS. No Preservatives BBS.
Phone : (602)545-5605
Running from 7/15/91 to 9/1/91.
In September, we start hitting the keyboards for Omni-NET. The Multi-line
BBS. It will be nothing like Omni 1.01.
