Here are a few notes to the game MacPan
The game is written with Megamax C by Richard Beith
The following files are in the ARC file. Please put them all
in the same directory.
MACPAN.PRG
TITEL.RSC (English version) TITEL.RSX (German version)
MACPAN.HI
FELD.SPR GHOST.SPR MAC.SPR
FELD001.MAC TO FELD004.MAC
MACPAN.DOC
README.DOC
MANUAL.DOC (THIS ONE)
I really believe that I don't have to explain the game
MACPAN because it's so popular. If you really don't know how
to play it, leave me a note in my mailbox and you'll get a
short describtion.
Anyway...
1. Every 10.000 points you'll receive another life
2. There is a special two-players option. Two people are
playing at the same time. This is much more difficult
because you always have to be really sure which one
your Mac is. Also it takes much more time to get the
10.000 points for the extra life.
Note: If one of the players lost all lifes the
second player will be dead, too (play
together, loose together!)
3. You can play MACPAN either with the joystick or the
keyboard. The movements are:
2 - down
4 - left
6 - right
8 - up
SPACE - Turbo
4. There's a special turbo-support for the Mac. That
means, if you push the fire button (or SPACE) your Mac
will increases its speed for a short while.
5. By the way, there's a cheat-modus implemented in the
game. Tell me if you found it (I haven't 'til yet).
6. Don't forget to type in your name in the title screen,
otherwise the name "Player1" will be in the hiscore
list. The ESC-key doesn't work here - use the BACKSPACE
key.
7. The RETURN key will pause the game and with ESC you're
leaving the actual game without transferring your score
in the high score list.
8. There's also a slider bar in the title screen. Here you
are able to set the beginning speed. I recommend to
leave it the way it is. To see how fast this game could
be put it to the right side.
I've translated the .RSC file of this game for your
convenience - so everything in the main-screen will be in
English. In respect of the authors copyright I left the
original RSC-file on the disk which has been renamed to
TITLE.RSX. To get the German version of the game just rename
the file TITLE.RSC to TITLE.RSE and the file TITLE.RSX to
TITLE.RSC (who ever needs it).
O.k. this is really all you need to know. I hope you enjoy
this game. Tell me if you like it.
