  61. The above listed archives contain the latest version of Dieter Fiebelkorn's
  62. popular GEM-View File and Image Viewer for the Atari ST/TT/Falcon
  63. computers. Version 2.46 is now available for downloading in library 28.
  64.  
  65. Run 'GVW_INST.APP' to install GEM-View (and type in your registration
  66. number, your name and your code/key if you already registered a previous
  67. copy of GEM-View >2.32). Please type your name in precisely the same way as
  68. it appears on the registration slip, observing capital/non-capital letters,
  69. spaces and special characters. The program will then be automatically
  70. upgraded and registered in your name. See below for more instructions for
  71. generating a unregistered version.

  73. During this process you may, if you wish, install the programs in a
  74. directory other than the default directory. To do this, click on the empty
  75. box below the word "Pfad:/Path:" and choose the destination directory from
  76. the resulting selection box.
  77.  
  78. Please check the 'Archives and Files' section below for the contents of the
  79. archives (GVW_V???.PAX, GVW_TOL?.PAX und GVW_PIC?.PAX) for more details
  80. about the files and subdirectories that will be created.

  91.   * The installation program will go through a general depacking and
  92.     installation process, which is not dependent on your computer type.
  93.     After installation you can use all the file in their uncompressed
  94.     state.
  95.  
  96.   * You can start the installation from Floppy Disk, RAM-Disk or Hard-Disk.
  97.     It is, however, essential that the archives ( the .PAX files ) are in
  98.     the same directory as 'GVW_INST.APP'.
  99.  
  100.   * Before an existing file is overwritten, you will be asked for
  101.     confirmation to proceed.
  102.  
  103.   * Using 'GVW_INST.APP' doesn't modify the archives so you can copy this
  104.     disk after installation and give it to a friend! However, you have to
  105.     keep your personal key secret.
  106.  
  107.  
  108.   If you registered an earlier version of GEM-View, and do not know your
  109.   code/key, you can obtain it as follows:
  110.  
  111.  
  112.   * Send e-mail to Dieter Fiebelkorn's e-mail address (see Copyright Dialog
  113.     in GEM-View), with the following 'Subject:'
  114.     
  115.     Register GEM-View: "#001234", "Norman User"
  116.  
  117.     replacing the number by your own registration-number -see below- and
  118.     "Norman User" with your own name  which must be spelled correctly,
  119.     observing capital/non-capital letters, spaces and special characters.
  120.  
  121.     (You can find out your registration number quite simply by running your
  122.     old GEMVIEW version, then load the old GEMVIEW.PRG - as if it  were an
  123.     image file!. When it is listed as a plain hex-dump, look to the right
  124.     of the third line to find a number preceded by '#'. That is your own
  125.     registration-number! )

  129.   * Send Dieter Fiebelkorn a letter with two CRI (international reply
  130.     coupons), which you can get at your post-office, saying that you want
  131.     to know your code/key. In this case your full name will be enough but

  148. GEM-View features a 14-days UNRESTRICTED trial period. Use the
  149. registration-number '000000' in the installation dialog to get an
  150. unregistered version of GEMVIEW. This version can then be tested for the
  151. next 14 days without any limitations. If you wish to continue to use
  152. GEM-View after this period, we ask you to register your own copy.
