Zkons version 4.01
Compiled by Erik Williams (FNET 304)
SunFox Productions, (very) Ltd. (c) 1991
July 19th, 1991
WHAT IT IS...
This is my icon archive for NeoDesk 3.02 that I compiled from 22 other
icon archives. There are over 500 icons in this one file, so you will
have to configure NeoDesk to read more than 500 items in a folder (I
would suggest 750).
Zkons 4.01 has a companion file, ZKONSDEF.LZH, which contains the best
culls from those aforementioned files in terms of replacing the
NeoDesk default icons. Between these two files, you should have a
pretty complete icon archive (but there are more being created all the
time!).
Thanks to Jeff Lomicka in Maynard, Massachusetts (where DEC has its
headquarters for some extra icons I didn't have). Jeff, your disk is
on it's way back and sorry for the delay.
A FEW CAVEATS...
Zkons 4.01 more than likely will contain some duplicate entries. When
I started this compilation project, there were over 900 icons in the
file. I have managed to scrap about 400 of the more obvious
duplicates from the file (like the *.ARC icons).
There are several alternative icons for several categories, like
ARChives, etc. Pick the ones that you like best and move them to your
default NeoDesk icon file! That's all there is to it!
SO DO I PAY OR WHAT?
Zkons 4.01 is FREEWARE which means you don't pay for it or anything
like that (not to mention, I compiled these from several different
archives, so a lot of these icons remain the copyright (if any
claimed) of their original authors). All I did was put these icons
into one file for convenience!
However, I *DO* want to see who uses Zkons 4.01 at least once, so
please send a postcard (now when was the last time that you got a
huge icon file for *14* cents?) from wherever you happen to be at the
time (I can see getting cards from scenic phone booths in Washington
State! ;) ).
Send the postcards to the following address:
