  9. About CoNnect
  10. -------------
  11.  
  12. CoNnect is a terminal program for the ATARI ST/STE/TT series,
  13. which will run under (nearly) any resolution and operating
  14. system similar to the ATARI TOS. It allows a very good emulation
  15. of VT52, VT100, VT102/ANSI, VT220 and TEK4014 Terminals. You can use
  16. this emulations on all serial and midi ports of your system
  17. and - if you want - even in parallel. CoNnect was testet on
  18. lots of graphics hardware and it seems to run well with all
  19. of them.
  20.  
  21. Beeing in VT100, Vt102 or VT220 Mode you can configure CoNnect
  22. to allow TEK 4014 graphics emulation.
  23.  
  24. In addition to its terminal features you can use CoNnect under
  25. MiNT/MultiTOS to run shells and processes in CoNnects windows.
  26.  
  27. I tried hard to develop CoNnect without bugs and a large number
  28. of beta testers helped me with that task. Nevertheless CoNnect
  29. certainly contains some bugs and I refuse any responsibility
  30. on damage which is caused by the usage or non-usage of CoNnect.

  33. Conversion to English:
  34.  
  35. First rename the File CONNECT.RSC, e.g. to CONNECT.RSX, so that
  36. you won't lose the original resource file. Then change the filename
  37. CONNENG.RSC to CONNECT.RSC. Do the same for the file CONNECT.HLP.

  39. Your distribution might already include this changes.

  42. The Files
  43. ---------

  45. In the archive CONN110i.LZH you should have found at least the
  46. following files:
  47.  
  48. CONNECT.PRG    The progran
  49. CONNECT.RSC    The German resource file
  50. CONNECT.HLP    The German help file
  51. CONNENG.RSC    The English resource file
  52. CONNENG.HLP    The English help file
  53. CONNECT.ASC    The text resource-File
  54. CONNECT.CHR    The vector font for TEK display
  55. CONNECT.OPT    The options file, that, if existing, is loaded
  56.                at CoNnect's start.
  57. CONNECT.CTL    The telephone book with (german) numbers of 
  58.                the so called MausNet.
  59. CONNECT.SCR    A default script which is run after the first
  60.                window of CoNnect has opened.
  61. CONNECT.NUM    A file which containes information on telephone
  62.                fees for dialed numbers. The calculations done
  63.                with this file are so far only valid for Germany.
  64. COSHY.RC       A startup file for CoNnect's intern command shell
  65.                named coshy.

  68. CoNnect is SHAREWARE!
  69. ---------------------

  71. CoNnect runs in shareware status. That means, that you can test
  72. this program and copy it without fees but you'll have to pay
  73. for CoNnect if you use it regularly. If you copy CoNnect be sure
  74. to only copy the original archive file containing all the files
  75. belonging to this software package.

  77. After 30 hours of testing CoNnect behaves less user friendly
  78. because it believes that this time of testing is more than
  79. enough to find a decision for or against CoNnect.
  80.  
  81. If you pay for CoNnect, you'll receive a registration key which
  82. will make a full version out of your demo.

  84. And read this urgent warning:

  86. ! Trying to avoid the testing time limit of 30 hours by patching   !
  87. ! CoNnects code will have bad effects on the safety of your data   !
  88. ! I refuse any liability in case a damage occurs                   !

  91. After testing this software you have to decide whether
  92. you want continue using CoNnect or not. In the latter case, you
  93. have to do nothing or if you want you may remove CoNnect from
  94. your system.

  96. If you like using CoNnect you have to pay a registration fee of
  97.  
  98.                              DM 60,- + additional DM 10,- for
  99.                                        foreign orders
  100.                                        
  101. (commercial versions for commercial use have do cost 150,-DM see
  102. the online help for further explanation).
  103.                              
  104. Remember that I really want to receive this money and keep in
  105. mind that any institution which will do the transaction can
  106. keep a certain amount for its own benefit.

  108. Together with this money make sure that I'll receive your

  110. to the registration menue.
