KILLER
INTROII.BNK
MOUSE.BNK
VIRUSII.BNK
VIRUS
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To load the killer, double-click on the file VIRUSDIE.PRG. When
the killer is loaded, the intro sequence will begin including
various animations and a scrolling message.
To access the main virus killer menu, press fire button on a
joystick inserted in port 1. When this is loaded, a menu will
appear on the screen. Moving the joystick moves a pointer on the
menu. Pressing fire selects an item under the pointer.
Selecting the buttons A or B changes the currently selected drive
to drive A or drive B. Clicking on CHECK DISK checks the disk in
the current drive for a boot sector virus. If the disk is clean,
the pointer will return, otherwise an animation will begin.
When the 'virus' is held by the grabber, it can be moved left and
right using the joystick. Pressing fire drops the 'virus',
selecting the death below. Dropping the 'virus' by the disk at
the left-hand side does not kill the virus and cancels the
operation (useful where the boot sector does not contain a virus
but an auto-load program eg in commercial software).
Selecting QUICK DEATH disables the animation sequence, displaying
an alert box instead. This is for when many disks are being
checked, enabling quicker choice. Clicking on SLOW DEATH enables
the animation again, this is the default mode.
There are some hidden parts to the killer, click around...
Pressing the HELP key runs through the killing animation without
disk access, so a virus is not needed to view the sequence.
Pressing ESC resets the computer, exiting the killer.
Note that all three of the deaths for the 'virus' kill the actual
virus on the disk in the same way, it is only the animation that
changes.
