Labels:text | ink | paper | sketch | letter OCR: Leonardo observed this exquisite miniaturistic view of the Adda River near the Villa Melzi, home of his pupil and companion Francesco Melzi. The ferry, with cattle and a man as passengers, shuttles across the river on a rope guideline, while in the distance, the river meanders through fields and trees.
