  11. NOTICE: Full support and distribution of beta copies has now been 
  12.         moved entirely to the eA Brand Software Support BBS. If you
  13.         have not been recognized as an official tester, you will
  14.         not have access to future beta releases. Once testing is
  15.         complete and a release version is ready to distribute, an

  27. Foreground and Background palettes/windows combined into one window
  28. for space-saving purposes (both screen and file-size). Cleaned up to
  29. make more "presentable"...
  30.  
  31. Erasables palette removed entirely due to problems with the codes.
  32. This will be reinstated in the next release.

  34. Preferences cleaned up and rearranged somewhat. File-type stuff was
  35. moved to a separate card. Prefs menu moved under new "Utilities" 
  36. menu.

  38. File-type preferences modified to include user modification of list
  39. of file types, saving of this list to a text file, importing list 
  40. files into the list, and deletion of old types.

  42. Gradients palette added under utilities. Users can now specify 
  43. various gradients automatically without having to manually key
  44. them in.

  46. Search/replace feature added under utilities. Function works only
  47. with single characters but it's FAST!

  49. Auto-boxes (automatic creation of boxes) added to utilities. Users
  50. can now, like gradients, create various box styles without having
  51. to manually key them in.

  53. Ability to append more files onto the end of the file currently in 
  54. the workspace added under the File menu.

  61. Toolbar removed from main window and put into entirely separate
  62. window. Main "Workspace" window redesigned to be resizeable.
  63.  
  64. Fixed the file rename bug, the file creator bug (creator information
  65. wasn't being saved properly) and several other small incompatibilities
  66. between various scripts.
  67.  
  68. Two new palettes created: Eraseables, which provides codes for erasing
  69. screens (useful for animations - not tested fully, however...) and a
  70. color palette with almost every possible color combination and shade
  71. known to the ANSI world. The color palette was removed due to size
  72. constraints. It alone added 120k to the size of the program. Unacceptable.

  74. "X" and "Y" coordinates removed from toolbar. They didn't work anyway,
  75. and the room was needed for buttons. Corresponding checkbox in the Prefs
  76. window (for turning X/Y display on/off) also removed. Prefs box cleaned
  77. up and resized.

  79. Print dialog box changed from previous version. Previously, choosing to
  80. print a document would bring up a custom dialog box, with no ability to
  81. change any of the print parameters. Changed this to bring up the "real"
  82. print dialog.

  84. Windows menu updated to reflect new windows.

  86. Added "Open" dialog at startup.

  88. More cosmetic fixes to the interface. Several little glitches fixed regarding
  89. the sound effects ("click") and the open dialog when entering program from
  90. the splash-screen.

  95. Fixed text arrows problem. One tester reported that hitting a
  96. text arrow caused an error dialog to surface.
  97.  
  98. Re-designed user interface (made "prettier"...). This was a 
  99. personal choice, as I was never happy with the old interface
  100. and wanted an iconic toolbar similar to Word 5.0. (oh, sorry...
  101. the "ribbon"...)
  102.  
  103. Fixed problems with printing workspace. Previously, choosing
  104. the Print menu item printed the entire window, buttons and
  105. all. This now prints only the workspace.
  106.  
  107. Implemented "Help Balloons" under System 7.x.  Funny thing...
  108. I was trying to test the balloons after implementing, and
  109. couldn't understand why they weren't showing up. Then I realized
  110. that I had SpeedyFinder installed, with Help Balloon menu disabled.
  111. HINT: You have to have the menu item enabled for the Help Balloons
  112. to work!

  114. Regrouped the text palette buttons to be a little more intuitive.
  115. Previously, the text characters were grouped by the order in which
  116. they appear under, say, Key Caps or PopChar. Now, they are grouped
  117. according to _style_, so that drawing boxes should be much easier
  118. now that you don't have to hunt for that elusive corner character...
  119.  
  120. Buttons in main window that open palettes (Foreground, Background,
  121. Text, Preferences) have been rescripted to check for the presence
  122. of corresponding windows. If window is already open, clicking on 
  123. the button will close the window.
  124.  
  125. "Windows" menu moved to a hierarchical menu under the "Edit" menu.
  126. Makes things look a little better. Command-key equivalents assigned
  127. to various menus.
  128.  
  129. "Space" character added to text palette for easy insertion of
  130. multiple spaces in a graphic.
  131.  
  132. "Click" sound effect added to toolbar icons. Ability to turn sound on/off added to Preferences.
  133.  
  134. Support has been added for an external application to be used as
  135. a "viewer" for in-progress and completed ANSI drawings. A third
  136. party is at work now producing a small application to be used in
  137. this capacity. There will be some quirks to this method, but it
  138. should hopefully do the job. Time will tell...
