This folder contains some files which might be useful if you travel in Europe and need access to CompuServe. All information is current as of 5/8/94, put please double-check before making a modem call.

CIS European numbers is a DA (using Display DA by Bill Steinberg) that lists all European CompuServe access numbers by country and network.
CIS European numbers [Text] contains the same information, but as tab-delimited text. This allows import in databases and word processors as well as printing.
Other countries is a text file with contact addresses in European countries without direct CompuServe access.
Since v.2.3 MacCIM supports more than two phone number settings (as does Navigator). In older versions (and to store different network settings and other information) you can use multiple CIM Prefs files. Duplicate the CIM Prefs file, rename it and then open Information Manager by double-click. Remember to always open Information Manager by double-clicking the Prefs file. For easier access you may want to store aliases of these Prefs files, e.g. in a folder called Information Manager in the Apple menu.
Apple Modem Tool Phone Numbers is a tab-delimited text of all CompuServe access numbers in Europe. You need Apple Modem Tool v.1.1.1 or higher and MacCIM v.2.2 or higher (or any communications program that supports the Communications Toolbox). Put Apple Modem Tool Phone Numbers into the Preferences folder. In the Connection settings choose Apple Modem Tool under "Port" (v.2.2) or "Method" (v.2.3) and then choose "Configure…" . If you leave the Phone number field in the Apple Modem Tool (v.1.5) empty, a dialog box with a pop-up menu of the numbers in Apple Modem Tool Phone Numbers will show up when you try to connect to CompuServe.
You can of course make your own Apple Modem Tools Phone Numbers file (e.g. all the numbers you may need on a trip). If you use different Networks or baud speeds you may write that behind the city name as a reminder. Use "//" for comments and "-" as separator.
If you want to use networks other than CompuServe, don’t forget the corresponding CCL scripts.
