• IBM and Motorola have announced the successful completion of the  
PowerPC 604 processor. Delivering at least twice the performance of the
PowerPC 601, the chip is expected to begin volume production in the
fourth quarter of 1994.
• Those of you anxious for Apple’s new ‘040 PowerBooks won’t have wait much longer. Rumor has it that Apple will debut 6 new models May 16th.
• On Friday, May 6th, Apple Canada will announced the details of its MessagePad 
ROM upgrade program, which will upgrade the logic board of the original Newton to that
of the MessagePad 110.
• After some unexplained delays, sources close to Apple Canada have indicated that SoftWindows/16MB Power Macintosh bundles will soon be availible.
• Claris is now shipping ClarisWorks 2.1 for Power Macintosh, offering 100-250% faster performance on a low-end Power Macintosh than a Quadra 700.
• Berkley Systems has announced Star Trek Screen Posters, a slide show screen  
saver which displays a collection of 35 images from the six Star Trek motion pictures.
The photos, which include some behind-the-scences shots, can also be used as desktop backgrounds.
• Wordperfect Corp. has announced 19 new ‘Main Street’ software packages geared towards education, entertainment, and productivity. Among planned releases are a CD-ROM based animated series, a clip art collection, and new versions of Grammatik and Letterperfect.
