About CD Teaser:
CD Teaser is a full-color and black-and-white Compact Disc remote controller for CD-ROM drives which use the Apple CD-ROM driver. A number of features have not been implemented: Programmable track sequencing, save and revert play lists, repeat selection, and stereo/mono.
The about box can be located by clicking on the '?' in the small rectangle at the bottom left hand corner of the handset. Clicking again will make it go away.
I want a fully functional version!:
The planned functionality of CD Teaser is being incorporated into another product, which is near completion. This new product is the actual player (ie not just the remote control), and will also sequence normal 8-bit Macintosh Audio with 16-bit CD Audio. So keep your eyes and ears open!.
Publishers/Distributers please note:
We are currently looking for a publisher for the "player", which is of a similar interface style to CD Teaser but offers much more functionality (especially in the area of normal Macintosh 8-bit sound and multi-player sequencing).

Requirements:
It will run on any Macintosh on which the Apple CD-ROM will run. CD Teaser runs in black & white on machines such as the Macintosh Plus, SE, and SE/30, and in full colour on machines including Macintosh SE/30, II, IIx, IIcx, IIci and IIfx. CD Teaser is also fully compatible with Apple's new 32-Bit Quickdraw.
CD Teaser requires the file 'Apple CD-ROM' be in the System folder and at least oneCD-ROM drive be connected and powered up to work properly. Also, the files 'Foreign File Access' and 'Audio CD Access' must be in the System Folder for the Finder to acknowledge the CD drive.
If there is no CD-ROM drive connected, CD Teaser will place a dialog on the screen advising of this, but will still allow you to play with its controls.
Installation:
CD Teaser is just a Desk Accessory, so you can use Apple's Font/DA Mover to install it into your System, or utilities such as Suitcase(tm) II or Font/DA Juggler(tm) Plus.
Features:
A realistic 8-Bit colour controller, with intuitive, functional and easy to use controls and displays, which aren't compromised when used in black and white. The 'go away box' in the upper left corner of the controller has been shaded to match CD Teaser's colour environment.
Backward play-list compatibility with Apple's CD Remote DA. Any play-lists created with Apple's CD Remote are used by CD Teaser. However, in this Teaser version only the track and disc names are displayed.
Intelligent monitoring of the Apple CD SC Drive. If a CD is already playing when the CD Teaser is opened it will display the current track and times appropriately, or if for some reason the Audio is stopped (ie Finder accessing the HFS portion, or Finder ejecting the disc) CD Teaser will stop.
CD Teaser is fun to use.
Using the CD Teaser:
Once the CD Teaser is opened you will notice that the cursor changes depending on where you are on the controller. When the cursor is over the middle part of the controller, the cursor will be hand shaped, indicating the button area. The cursor will then change to a cross when positioned over the raised drag areas (both top and bottom) as this is where you click to move CD Teaser's window. The only exception to this is when the mouse is over the 'about' rectangle, or go-away box, when it will be an arrow.
The top display area (in the raised area) displays the CD's name, and the lower and larger 'LCD' display shows track information including current track number, track time played and track time remaining, total elapsed time and total time remaining, and a clock. The display functions are selected by the Display button:
REMAIN: top clock - time remaining in current track
bottom clock - time remaining on disc
LAP: top clock - time elapsed in current track
bottom clock - time elapsed since playing started
TIME: top clock - time the CD Teaser has been open
bottom clock - time of day
CD Teaser has three distinct modes of operation available by pressing on one of the three buttons ( Control - Keypad - Program ) on the bottom of the controller:
1. CONTROL:
Standard buttons for controlling the CD player, including:
-Stop
-Play
-Pause
-Down Track
-Up Track
-Rewind
-Fast Forward
-Display
-Eject
-Repeat selection and Repeat Track (disabled)
-Audio output ( left-stereo-right) (disabled)
2. KEYPAD:
A keypad to seek to a specified track and play it, including:

-Pause

CD Teaser will accept either keyboard entry or mouse clicking to make the track selection. It will seek to the requested track when either the Enter or Return key is pressed, or after a short interval if you forget to press Enter or Return. Clear can be used to correct wrongly typed track numbers, or to go back to the current track.
3. PROGRAM:
Displays a scrolling list of audio tracks and will allow programming of track sequences. CD Teaser will read play lists created with Apple's 'CD Remote' DA, but in this teaser version all programming buttons have been disabled. Buttons include:
