EarLevel Engineering. The developers of CASPAR have paid a one year distribution fee to EarLevel Engineering, so that CASPAR may be distributed until February 1, 1996. After this date, any further distribution of this version of CASPAR is not permitted. You do not need to obtain HyperMIDI to use this version of CASPAR, since it is included. You may not, however, distribute or copy HyperMIDI.
CASPAR does need MIDI Manager 2.0.1 to run. The MIDI manager is bundled with many other music software packages including Finale, Lime, Performer, Vision, Max, and HyperMIDI. If you do not already have a copy, you should purcahse the MIDI Management Tools Set from APDA (1-800-282-2732) for about $35.
CASPAR .951 is a beta-release. The final version will include all 12 dictation modules, and include facilties for creating your own melodies and progressions, more tutorials and documentation, and a provision to monitor student activities with CASPAR. CASPAR 1.0 should be available in May or June 1995.
