Hyper-Mail 1.5 is a show-your-wares product. That means you are absolutely not obligated to send any money for the software, BUT you are requested to send me mail (or E-mail) with comments, suggestions and ideas to the addresses below. If you write with suggestions, I will be more than elated to incorporate more features and/or bug fixes and send out a new version.
I originally created this stack to manage the growing mailing list for my business, but as with most things in my life, it quickly grew arms and legs and I incorporated tons of address book/rolodex type features in it. The result is a multi-purpose stack with some very excellent (and powerful) features. It could easily act as a replacement for the Address Book stack that comes with Hypercard 2.0. To accomplish this, export your addresses from the Addresses stack to a TEXT file, then open my stack and import that file. (Go to the "Exchange" card by clicking that button, select "Import Text" and Un-Check the box next to field "Title". Then click "Do It". You will see an Open File dialog. Navigate your hard disk to find the file you just exported from the Addresses stack and click "Open".) You will find this stack to be much faster at almost everything, and the extended features will come in very handy if you spend a little time trying to be productive. ENJOY!

Here's why I included the DisplayDA and incorporated the 'Export Only' feature (V. 1.4>): Go to the export card and follow the directions in the help balloon to export the stack in a format you want. Then hold the shift-key when clicking 'Do It'. You will be prompted about your present course of action. Say 'OK' and save the file onto your disk. Now open DisplayDA and click on the text line at the bottom of the display to get the info on how to customise DisplayDA. Open the TEXT file in TeachText and select-all (cmd-A) and copy the text (cmd-C). Now open DisplayDA in ResEdit and locate the proper resource and paste the text in. Now when you open DisplayDA, you will see a nicely formatted list of names and addresses, and it can be conveniently located in your apple menu or wherever!

1.1 - released 3/15/93. V. 1.1 fixes a bug in the "Mark" card - I (quite stupidly) omitted the "Street" field from the dialog box. This screwed up the marking routine for pretty much everything. Also found a bug in the "Exchange" card from an incorrectly identified button. Added status fields, put the sort menu on a card instead of a window, textarrows are useable and configureable on the prefs card, H-M will now automatically dial "1" before non-local calls, added auto-compact preference. Some face-lifting, and a custom icon.
1.2 - released 3/28/93. V. 1.2 fixes more bugs in the mark, sort and find handlers. General stack management is cleaner and faster. Some more face-lifting, and a new icon.
1.3 - released 4/26/93. V. 1.3 now contains the label printing templates which dissapeared in V. 1.2. Utilities were added on address cards. Phone field descriptors were added. A boolean 'OR' function was added to the 'Mark' card. Modem dialing from the phone fields is now supported. General streamlining and consolidating of scipts.
1.5 - released 10/31/93. (Booooh!) V. 1.5 adds the new help card. The Fast-Find index now incorporates the same shiftKey features as the other navigation buttons (marked cards only). Consolidated new alert boxes. Now, when importing from files w/ more fields than H-M has, the extra fields import into the "Info" field. Can now print both or either address from #10 envelope template. Minor script enhancements.
