  3. Important Program Information.
  4. ================================
  5. Welcome to McDonaldland Card Game Party.  Listed below is some
  6. important last minute information about this program.  Please
  7. read it before using the software.
  8.  
  9. ============================
  10. Adjusting MIDI Music Volume
  11. ============================ 
  12.  
  13. If the program's music volume is too loud or too soft
  14. on your computer,  you can adjust it to a comfortable 
  15. level by using the Windows 95 Volume Control.  Please follow the
  16. directions below:
  17.  
  18. 1. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar
  19. 2. Select: Programs, Accessories, Multimedia, Volume Control
  20. 3. The Windows 95 Volume Control Accessory program should
  21.    appear.
  22. 4. Go to the control labeled "Synthesizer" or "MIDI"
  23. 5. Make sure there is a check mark in the box labeled 
  24.    Select.
  25. 6. Use the slider control to set the Volume level for 
  26.    MIDI sounds and music.
  27. 7. Exit the program.

  30. Autorun

  33. Autorun may cause some computers to experience a "palette shift"
  34. (i.e. a color distortion). If a palette shift occurs on your computer,
  35. it is recommended that you access the program through the Start Menu.

  38. Video Modes
  39. =============
  40. Card Game Party's graphics and videos will look and perform better
  41. if you run Windows 95 in High Color (16-bit) mode.  We recommend
  42. this setting for best performance.  To do this, please follow the directions
  43. below:

  45. To change your system's Video Mode in Windows 95 to High Color mode,
  46. go through the following steps:
  47.  
  48. 1. Click on the Start button
  49. 2. Select Settings - Control Panel
  50. 3. Double Click on the Display icon.
  51. 4. The Display Properties dialog box will appear.
  52. 5. Click on the Settings tab.
  53. 6. Go to the area labeled "Color Palette" and select the option
  54.    "High Color (16) bit" from the list-box.
  55. 7. Click on OK.  
  56. 8. Depending on your system, Windows 95 may ask that you restart 
  57.    windows for the settings to take effect.

  60. McDonaldLand Screen Saver
  61. Windows 95
  62. =============================
  63. Included with this program is a free McDonaldLand Screen Saver!
  64.  
  65. To install the McDonaldLand Screen Saver, double-click on the 
  66. McDonaldLand Screen Saver Installer icon included in the 
  67. McDonaldLand Program Folder, which should appear on your desktop
  68. following installation.  This will begin the Screen Saver install
  69. process described below in steps 4-8.  You can always install the
  70. program later from the Windows 95 Taskbar.

  72. To Install McDonaldLand Screen Saver from the Windows 95 Taskbar:
  73.  
  74. 1. Make sure your McDonaldLand CD is inserted in your CD-ROM drive!
  75. 2. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar.
  76. 3. Choose Programs, McDonaldLand, then click on the McDonaldLand
  77.    Screen Saver Installer icon.  This will begin the Screen Saver
  78.    installation process.
  79. 4. A dialog box will ask you to wait while the McDonaldLand Screen
  80.    Saver Setup prepares the InstallShield« Wizard to guide you 
  81.    through the rest of the setup process.
  82. 5. Next, the McDonaldLand Screen Saver Setup screen will appear.  
  83.    It is recommended that you exit all Windows programs before 
  84.    running Setup. You can choose Cancel to quit Setup and close 
  85.    any programs you have running.  Click on Next to continue with
  86.    the Setup program.
  87. 6. The License Agreement screen will appear next. Click on Yes to 
  88.    agree to the terms and continue with the Setup program. 
  89. 7. The Choose Destination Location screen appears next. Click on 
  90.    Next to install McDonaldLand Screen Saver to the default 
  91.    directory (or choose Browse and select another destination,
  92.    then choose Next to continue).
  93. 8. The Screen Saver Setup Complete screen will appear next. 
  94.    Select Finish to complete the Screen Saver installation.

  96. Using McDonaldLand Screen Saver
  97.  
  98. You are now ready to run the McDonaldLand Screen Saver. 
  99. To run the Screen Saver and adjust the display properties:

  101. 1. Click on the Start button on the Windows Taskbar. 
  102. 2. Choose Settings, then Control Panel.
  103. 3. Double-click on the Display icon.
  104. 4. The Display Properties window will appear. Select the
  105.    Screen Saver tab.
  106. 5. Click on the Screen Saver drop down menu and select
  107.    McDland. You will see a mini preview in the display window.
  108. 6. You can set the amount of time that will elapse before
  109.    Windows displays the Screen Saver in the Wait (1) Minutes
  110.    section. 
  111. 7. Select the Settings button to adjust the Screen Saver speed, 
  112.    change sound effects or turn the sound On or Off.  
  113. 8. Click on Apply to apply your settings.  Click on OK to return
  114.    to the desktop.

  116. Note to Users Regarding Sound Cards:
  117.  
  118. If you encounter any problems while running the McDonaldLand Screen Saver
  119. there may be a conflict with your current Sound Card Driver. 
  120. In order to avoid this problem while trying to run the McDonaldland Screen 
  121. Saver, we suggest that you turn off the Sound Option in the Program Settings. 
  122. However, if that does not solve the problem, we recommend that you contact 
  123. your computer or sound card manufacturer for an updated set of sound card
  124. drivers.

  127. Screen Saver settings, please consult the Card Game Party Manual
  128. included on the CD (You must first install Adobe Acrobat, also
  129. included on the CD, to view the Manual).
