  27. 1) BigFocus / 3 DoubleScreen  DOS  - what is that?
  28. ==================================================

  30. BigFocus is SPEA's extensive function driver for AutoCAD 12 and 13 (DOS)
  31. and AutoCAD for Windows.
  32.  
  33. The BigFocus driver for DOS do not  contain 3D functionality.
  34. If you are interested in purchasing the full version then please refer
  35. to your distributor and ask him for the product
  36.         " DoubleScreen  DOS "
  37. This software package is a double screen package for STORM PRO PCI/VL
  38. and the MIRAGE P 64  boards and  includes the  3D functionality .

  40. 2) Requirements:
  41. ================
  42.  This driver supports the following boards: V7-STORM PRO VL/ PCI in 
  43.  single screen.
  44.  For the double screen  work  you need the  software packege
  45.  " DoubleScreen DOS "and  MIRAGE P64 VL/ PCI .

  50.   This version of BigFocus is exclusively for use with multiscan
  51.   monitors.

  54. 3) What's new?
  55. ==============
  56.   - BigFocus for DOS now supports AutoCAD version 12 and 13.
  57.  
  58.   - Dual screen configurations with SPEA V7 boards: as of now, SPEA
  59.     supplies two 'SPEA DoubleScreen' packages:
  60.     (a) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS/Win
  61.     (b) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS
  62.  
  63.     Package (a) contains two V7-MERCURY P-64 boards and the software
  64.     necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS/Windows, Windows
  65.     and MicroStation.

  67.     Package (b) contains a V7-STORM PRO and a V7-MIRAGE P-64 as well as
  68.     the software necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS and
  69.     MicroStation.

  72. 4) Installing BigFocus for DOS and Windows:
  73. ===========================================
  74.   1. Put the disk 'BigFocus' in drive A: and enter:
  75.         A:
  76.         INSTALL
  77.      According to whether you are using the DOS or Windows version of
  78.      AutoCAD make your selection and follow the instructions on the screen.
  79.      (Only for floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)
  80.  
  81.   2. At the end of the installation a file named RCSETUP.BAT is created in
  82.      your SPEA\GDC directory. This file sets the necessary environment
  83.      variable (SPEAPOP) needed by the BigFocus tools.
  84.      Call RCSETUP.BAT before you reconfigure AutoCAD itself.

  86.   3. WINDOWS:
  87.      Start ACADWIN, Select "File", "Configure" and when selecting the
  88.      display driver choose:

  90.          SPEA ADI 4.2 Display/Rendering - by SPEA AG
  91.  
  92.      DOS:
  93.      Start AutoCAD again and select the following driver when choosing
  94.      the display driver:

  96.          SPEA P9100 3D ADI 4.2 Display/Rendering - by SPEA AG

  98.     NOTE (see also: RCSETUP.BAT):
  99.     If you have installed a dual screen configuration, then you can use the
  100.     following environment variables to determine the  secondary board
  101.     to be  force  with  the  SPEA S3  driver.
  102.     To do this make the following entry in the  RCSETUP.BAT file:

  104.         SET  RCPADIT=..\ACAD\DRV\RCS3.EXP
  105.  
  106. Note for BigFocus for DOS:
  107.     If you have already installed a version of BigFocus and are using
  108.     this installation as an update, then the position of the SPEA icons
  109.     will be different to the last position saved when you restart AutoCAD.

  111. 5)  Notes concerning your manual
  112. ================================
  113.  
  114. Please note that the manual included with this software only describes
  115. the DOS version of BigFocus 12. The Windows version of the driver is based
  116. on the same commands etc. of the DOS version. Some commands have a slightly
  117. different syntax or function, which is due to the Windows environment.
  118. Note that the Tutor window is not available under Windows.
  119. Windows users can however refer to the extensive online help. The updated
  120. documentation is in preparation and will be made available as soon as
  121. possible via the SPEA Mailbox.
