  20. A) What's new?
  21. ==============
  22.    Concerning to the last BigBlue 2.02 Seamless Windows can also be used
  23.    in True Color modes.
  24.    The mouse problems in the DOS Sessions are fixed.

  26. B) Properties of the Driver
  27. ===========================
  28.    This driver supports the following resolutions and color depth in the
  29.    OS/2 Workplace Shell:
  30.       640 * 480  * 256 colors
  31.       800 * 600  * 256 colors
  32.      1024 * 768  * 256 colors
  33.      1152 * 870  * 256 colors
  34.      1280 * 1024 * 256 colors
  35.       640 * 480  * 64k colors
  36.       800 * 600  * 64k colors
  37.      1024 * 768  * 64k colors
  38.       640 * 480  * 16M colors (*)
  39.       800 * 600  * 16M colors (*)
  40.  
  41.   (*) AVI file playback are not supported.

  43.    The BigWin driver can be installed in the Windows Session in all available
  44.    resolutions and also with color depth higher than 256 colors.
  45.    Also if the BigWin is configured in another resolution than the OS/2
  46.    environment it is possible to switch between both surfaces without
  47.    any problems.

  49. C) Requirements for Installation
  50. ================================
  51.    OS/2 has to be installed and runs with standard VGA driver or and older
  52.    BigBlue driver with the V7-MERCURY P-64 board in the OS/2 environment as
  53.    well.
  54.    Note: You need the V7-MERCURY P-64 "Drivers for Windows" Disk for the
  55.    installation.

  58. D) Installation of the OS/2 Drivers
  59. ===================================
  60. 1. (Only when drivers are downloaded from mailbox)
  61.    Extract the files to an 1.44MB floppy a name this disk "V7-MERCURY P-64
  62.    BigBlue".
  63.    A disk label is NOT necessary any longer.
  64.  
  65. 2. Start OS/2.
  66.    Important: before beginning the installation shut down any running
  67.    OS/2 and Windows programs!
  68.    Open a fullscreen session or an OS/2 window. Put the disk labelled
  69.    "V7-MERCURY P-64 BigBlue" in drive A: and enter:
  70.       A:\V7SETOS2
  71.    (Only for floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)

  73.    Follow the instructions on the screen and if unsure at any point,
  74.    call the online help.
  75.  
  76.    After terminating the program and restarting OS/2 you have access to
  77.    the OS/2 desktop and seamless Windows with the BigBlue driver and
  78.    to Windows via the BigWin driver in the resolution and color depth
  79.    that you selected.

  82. E) Changing the resolution under OS/2 or Win-OS/2
  83. =================================================
  84. After you have installed BigBlue a new folder named "SPEA/V7" will be
  85. created on your desktop with the V7SETOS2 program icon. After starting
  86. this program you can change the resolution or color depth before restarting
  87. your system to initialize the changes.
  88.  
  89. Note the following if you wish to use a different resolution under Win-OS/2
  90. as opposed to the OS/2 desktop.
  91. 1. Deactivate the checkbox 'Use settings in Win-OS/2 fullscreen session'.
  92. 2. Start Win-OS/2. Select the options 'File' and 'Run' in the Program
  93.    Manager. Then enter V7SETUP' without a path or drive. After starting
  94.    the program make the changes for your Win-OS/2 session in the same
  95.    way as under V7SETOS2.

  97.    Note: V7SETUP for Windows can't be started as a seamless window
  98.    application.

  100. F) Known Restrictions
  101. =====================
  102. Videoplayer:
  103.    If you change to a fullscreen session whilst running a video then text
  104.    will be displayed in black on blak. Switching from digital video to
  105.    fullscreen windows can cause the system to crash.
  106.  
  107. SPtune:
  108.    User modes (tuned modes) are currently not supported. They are not shown
  109.    in V7SETOS2 but are used and running if set under SPtune.
  110.  
  111. SPEAview:
  112.    SPEAview should not be used under Win-OS2.
