  46.     The V7-VEGA PRO graphics card is a product that offers significantly
  47.     enhanced features compared to other standard VGA graphic and
  48.     accelerator boards.
  49.  
  50.     This particularly applies to
  51.     - higher resolutions    and
  52.     - higher refresh rates.
  53.  
  54.     Please be aware that you can only take full advantage of the
  55.     features provided by the V7-VEGA PRO, if the other components of
  56.     your system, especially the graphic monitor that is being used,
  57.     also comply with the specifications of the V7-VEGA PRO.

  59.     (Example : The resolution 1280x1024 that is supported by the
  60.     V7-VEGA PRO can obviously not be used with a monitor that is speci-
  61.     fied to only support resolutions up to 1024x768.)

  68.     After the end of the current installation procedure,
  69.     please insert disk "Drivers for Windows" and enter:

  79.     As already mentioned above, the graphics monitor used with the
  80.     V7-VEGA PRO must comply to the specifications of the V7-VEGA PRO.
  81.     Only then can the full functionality of the V7-VEGA PRO
  82.     be used.

  84.     A detailed description of available video modes can be found in
  85.     the file BIOS.TXT in the SPEA directory.

  88.     The setting of the refresh rates is for the most drivers done by
  89.     the program SMONITOR. For Windows please use the program V7SETUP to
  90.     set resolution and refresh rate.

  96.     Please only select parameters that your monitor is specified for.
  97.     Your monitor may be seriously damaged, if it is constantly driven
  98.     with parameters which are not within the range of its specification.
  99.     If you change your monitor you have to compare the specification
  100.     and, if necessary, to change the resolutions / refresh rates using
  101.     SMONITOR !

  108.     You may want to install the V7 DPMS program SPENERGY.EXE to have
  109.     the energy saving modes of your monitor available. To do so,
  110.     insert the V7-VEGA PRO Superdisk labelled 'SPEAenergy'.
  111.     Use the File Manager command 'File|Run Program' and enter:

  113.     A:SPENERGY
  114.  
  115.     The program will install itself on your hard disk.
  116.     (Only for floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)

  120.     ║                    Known Limitations                        ║

  123.     (1) It is not possible to use two or more active VGA boards in one PC at
  124.         the same time.
  125.         In case you want to use the V7-VEGA PRO board in a PC that has a
  126.         VGA interface integrated on the motherboard, then this integrated
  127.         VGA interface must be disabled before the V7-VEGA PRO may be used.

  129.     (2) Some applications such as Windows 3.1, and others offer
  130.  
  131.                          "Video 7 ..." display interfaces
  132.  
  133.         in their configuration programs.
  134.  
  135.         These options should NOT be selected when using the V7-VEGA PRO.
  136.  
  137.         Please follow the instructions given in the user's manual to
  138.         guarantee that the optimum configuration for the V7-VEGA PRO is
  139.         being installed.

  146.     1) There are some jumpers on your V7-VEGA PRO which are set by
  147.        the manufacturer and need not to be changed.
  148.        One exception is Jumper 3 on the VL Version of the V7-VEGA PRO.
  149.        This jumper provides to adjust the graphics board to the bus
  150.        frequency of your system. If your system runs with a clock rate
  151.        of 33 Mhz or less this jumper has to be removed. If the clock rate
  152.        is higher than 33 MHz, the jumper remains as it is.

  155.     2) If the program SMONITOR is started without parameter, you will
  156.        get an online help with a table for selecting the refresh rates,
  157.        Some of the displayed frequencies exceed the possibilities of the
  158.        V7-VEGA PRO. E.g. if you select a monitor with a frequency of 90 Hz,
  159.        the actual frequency will be 75 Hz. A list of all avilable video
  160.        modes can be found in the file BIOS.TXT in the SPEA diretory
  161.        (\SPEA\VEGAPRO\BIOS.TXT).
