If you have problems with the configuration of your PCI board, there are a number of possible causes.
There are some basic settings you may have to enter manually in your PC's PCI configuration setup menu.
There are many different PCI Setup configuration menus in use on the market, each depending on the mainboard manufacturers choice.
How do you get to the PCI configuration menu?
Via the BIOS Setup of your system (check your PC manufacturer's manual) - e.g. with ESC during the boot procedure.
Warning!
Not all PCI configuration menus offer the same options to the user. In this case the invisible options are set automatically by the system.
Please take note of the following:
- INT must be set
- A free IRQ (e.g. 5,9,10,11) must be assigned to each slot and INT A
- The option 'Trigger Method' in the PCI configuration menu must be set to 'Level'. (If in your system 'JPx' is entered at 'Trigger Method', please read in the system manual how to change the entry to 'Level').
Possible problems:
- System does not start properly, but the settings are correct:
Possibly your PCI motherboard has an additional jumper to enable/disable IRQs. In this case, read through the PCI system manual and correct the jumper setting.
- The system is active, but the mouse has disappeared.
It is possible that the PCI slot is not set to INTA, but INTB, C or D. In this case set INTA and assign a free IRQ to the PCI slot.
